[Team Description]

The Credit Exposure Group (CEG) is part of the Financial Risk – Trading Risk Management (FR-TRM) domain within ING’s CRO risk organisation. The team focuses on the quantitative measurement and management of Counterparty Credit Risk (CCR) exposures across ING’s global trading activities. CEG plays a critical role in ensuring accurate risk assessments for derivatives and securities financing transactions, contributing to both internal risk management and regulatory compliance.

CEG supports the development, implementation, and maintenance of CCR models and methodologies, including regulatory and internal frameworks, as model owner. The team enables ING to monitor and manage exposures effectively, ensuring the bank’s resilience against counterparty defaults. This role contributes to the broader goals of Financial Risk by supporting CCR measurement, model development, and stakeholder engagement. The Medior/Junior Customer Journey Expert will assist in these activities, with responsibilities tailored to their level of experience and expertise.

[Job Description]
We are looking for a Financial Risk Officer to join the CEG team as Customer Journey Expert during a 4 month STA, to accelerate the delivery of the strategic CCR modelling and measurement roadmap, including regulatory committed deliverables. This senior role offers a unique. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to grow within a dynamic and international risk management environment. The role involves supporting CCR measurement and modelling activities, collaborating with stakeholders across Risk, Financial Markets, and IT. The successful candidate will be involved in data analysis, reporting, documentation and model implementation projects. Tasks will be assigned based on the candidate’s knowledge and experience, with opportunities for development and learning.

[Specific Tasks and Responsibilities]
● Supporting CCR measurement activities across various financial asset classes
● Assisting in Exposure at Default (EAD) and Potential Future Exposure (PFE) measures.
● Contributing to Monte Carlo and AddOn methodology calibration and backtesting
● Supporting modelling of netting and collateral agreements
● Participating in stress testing and Wrong Way Risk estimations
● Assisting in model monitoring and model risk management activities
● Engaging in CCR model implementation projects within ING’s IPA environment
● Documenting procedures and presenting analysis to stakeholders
● Ensuring compliance with internal audit and model validation standards
● Collaborating with internal teams such as Financial Markets, Risk, and IT

[Specific Knowledge and Experience]
● University degree in economics, econometrics, finance, or a related field
● Some experience or strong interest in market risk or counterparty credit risk
● Basic understanding of OTC derivatives pricing and CCR methodologies
● Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
● Effective communication skills for stakeholder interaction
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Proficiency in MS Office (especially Excel); programming skills (Python, Java, C++) are a plus
● Fluent in English
● Flexible and results-driven, with the ability to meet deadlines
● Willingness to learn and take on increasing responsibilities over time

[Reporting Line and Classification]

The successful candidate for the medior/junior Customer Journey Expert role will report hierarchically to the Head of Process, Control & Risk within the Financial Risk Management team, based in Amsterdam.
