Sr Test Engineer- Manual + Automation (Site Reliability )

About this role:

As a Senior Test Engineer on our Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the reliability, availability, and resilience of our platforms and applications. You will be responsible for designing, automating, and executing Disaster Recovery (DR) and resilience testing scenarios, as well as conducting functional and regression testing for new and existing features. Working closely with SREs, developers, and stakeholders, you will help validate our monitoring and alerting systems, participate in chaos engineering exercises, and drive continuous improvement in our testing and reliability practices. This role is ideal for someone passionate about automation, system robustness, and proactively identifying and addressing potential points of failure before they impact our users.

What you will need

Strong IT professional with 4-6 years of experience in manual and automation software testing (websites and/or mobile applications). The candidate should have strong qualitative and quantitative problem-solving skills along with ownership and accountability.

What you will do:

  • Build, execute, and automate test cases based on test plans and functional requirements.
  • Define and validate production readiness criteria, including Validate rollback, deployment health, and recovery procedures.
  • Design, automate, and execute Disaster Recovery (DR) and resilience test scenarios to ensure system reliability under failure conditions.
  • Collaborate with SREs to validate monitoring, alerting, and observability mechanisms as part of the testing process.
  • Perform chaos engineering and failure injection tests to proactively identify and address potential system weaknesses.
  • Participate in incident response simulations and post-incident reviews to continuously improve testing strategies and system robustness.
  • Provide feedback to SRE and development teams to enhance system reliability, scalability, and recovery processes.
  • Explore and utilize AI-driven knowledge management and automation tools to enhance testing efficiency and documentation quality.

Must Have:

  • 4-6 years of testing experience with highly scalable applications.
  • Understanding of incident management processes and participation in incident simulations or root cause analysis.
  • Strong focus on system reliability, scalability, and recovery as part of the overall quality assurance process.
  • Experience in manual and automated testing of application UI, API, and Database testing.
  • Experience automating test cases using at least one language - Java, JavaScript
  • Experience with industry standard test automation tools such as Selenium, Appium, JUnit, TestNG, or Playwright.
  • Proficiency with test case management and defect management software and processes like JIRA and AIO.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to present technical information in a clear and concise manner to IT Leaders and business stakeholder.

Good To Have:

  • Familiarity with agile processes.
  • Exposure to or interest in leveraging AI-powered knowledge tools for test automation, documentation, or process optimization. Learn more about AI knowledge tools here
  • Experience with SQL and data validation.
  • Familiar with Playwright automation tools and API testing.
  • Familiarity with All in One (AIO) Jira test case management add-in.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • B.E./B.S. Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology or relevant professional experience
  • 4-6 years of experience in an IT or Business environment testing highly scalable applications
  • Excellent communications skills interacting with technical and business audiences
  • Any testing certification is a plus.
