Sr. Technical Enablement Engineer

Are you a technically fluent, sales-savvy professional who knows how to turn complex security solutions into compelling partner success stories? Ingram Micro is looking for a driven Sr. Technical Enablement Engineer to be the go-to Fortinet expert within our channel ecosystem, enabling partners, empowering sales teams, and accelerating growth across one of cybersecurity's most recognized brands.

About the Role

This isn't your typical technical role, and it's not your typical sales role either. As a Sr. Technical Enablement Engineer focused on Fortinet, you'll sit at the intersection of technology and business, bridging the gap between complex networking and security solutions and the partners who sell them. You're a seasoned, independent professional who leads with expertise, earns trust quickly, and isn't afraid to take ownership of significant programs and initiatives.

What You'll Do

  • Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement: Analyze customer needs, deliver tailored solutions, and serve as the technical voice in the room on sales calls and partner meetings.
  • Partner & Vendor Collaboration: Act as the primary Fortinet technical counterpart, aligning on strategy and driving growth initiatives across the channel.
  • Technical Enablement & Content Creation: Build playbooks, demo scripts, and training content from scratch, then bring it to life through webinars, workshops, and partner training sessions.
  • Leadership & Cross-Functional Influence: Lead as a subject matter expert, mentor junior teammates, and independently drive initiatives that move the business forward.

What You Bring

Must-Have Skills & Experience:

  • Strong technical foundation in networking and cybersecurity, you speak the language fluently
  • Hands-on experience in technical sales, pre-sales, or solution architecture
  • Proven ability to build enablement content from scratch, playbooks, demos, training decks, and more
  • Confident and engaging presenter and trainer, comfortable in front of partners, customers, and executives
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex projects and programs with creativity and independence
  • Collaborative team player with the ability to work cross-functionally across sales, partner, and vendor teams
  • Strong customer acumen with a track record of cultivating lasting customer and partner relationships

Nice-to-Have:

  • Direct experience with Fortinet products and solutions
  • NSE (Network Security Expert) certification — any level

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a related field
  • 5+ years of total professional experience
  • 3+ years in a technical enablement, pre-sales, or solution architecture role

Travel: 10–15%, primarily within the U.S. enough to stay connected in the field without living on a plane.

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $102,000.00 - $173,400.00 per year.

The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.

These awards are allocated based on position level and individual performance.
