About the Role:
The Senior Strategy & Business Development Analyst will support the Strategy and Business Development team across numerous complex consulting-style analytical projects in business strategy, corporate acquisitions, divestitures, and strategic partnerships across multiple business units within LexisNexis Risk Solutions Group. The position involves collaboration with multiple functional areas and requires defining project objectives, leading qualitative and quantitative research and analysis, and synthesizing key findings and implications. While needs vary, projects typically involve assessment of market trends, competitive landscape, M&A pipeline analysis, financial modeling, and acquisition diligence to develop appropriate recommendations to drive value for the business. Along with senior members of the team, the Senior Analyst will work with business unit leaders and functional support teams to identify, plan, and conduct complex projects that support corporate and business unit strategies. Projects are typically 1-2 months in duration, and output is highly visible, typically consumed by the CEO and other senior leaders of the company. Projects will rotate through company business units, creating an ability to observe and learn the entire Risk Solutions business.
Accountabilities
Scope and lead primary and secondary research and analysis to support understanding of market, competitive, and business dynamics.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather data, perform analysis, and develop strategic recommendations.
Conduct complex quantitative analysis, including financial modeling, market sizing, and econometric analysis, utilizing one's own judgment to make recommendations.
Summarize analysis and recommendations in presentations and papers.
Create, analyze, document, and communicate project key findings and status updates regularly to project team members and leadership across the organization as appropriate.
Lead, monitor, and maintain project schedules involving coordination and partnership with multiple departments.
Proactively identify, mitigate, escalate, and resolve issues related to project.
Responsible for the escalation of issues to leadership as appropriate.
Develop and manage relationships across the organization.
Manage multiple projects concurrently.
Projects will rotate include but not limited to support of business unit growth strategy, corporate planning, strategic initiatives, and business development activities.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, Math, or related field.
5 years’ work experience as a business analyst or similar role, or 3 years strategy/M&A consulting related analytical experience, or 3 years relevant business experience with a master’s degree.
Preferred experience in management consulting or investment banking.
Advanced skills in MS Office, especially Excel and PowerPoint.
Advanced research and analytical skills; ability to incorporate best practices and innovation into project recommendations.
Must possess strong relationship management qualities and experience in team leadership, coordination, and collaboration skills.
Must possess strong problem-solving abilities involving identifying the root cause of problems, assessing risks/impacts, and determining and implementing effective solutions.
Strong self-motivation, business acumen, consulting, influence, and interpersonal/relationship development skills.
Open and growth mindset
Strong project planning and decision-making skills.
Must possess solid organizational and planning skills; must be able to prioritize and re-prioritize project(s) with close attention to detail and timeliness.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and written, with C-level executives and other senior leaders
