Our PPD® Laboratory Services team has a direct impact on improving patient health through the expertise of scientists, industry thought-leaders and therapeutic experts. Discover Impactful Work

Provides focused program management services to the Quality Assurance organization (QA Labs), enabling business success across the Analytical Sciences Division. QA Labs oversees testing across a globally diverse organization and business units spanning bioanalytical, vaccines, CMC/GMP (small and large molecule), and central laboratory clinical enablement functions. Enables harmonization across site-based organizations while respecting each site’s unique business needs. Tactically, oversees coordination and management of projects by monitoring status, timelines, and outcomes; strategically identifies new improvements ideas and projects. Helps maintain business continuity. Serves as the primary liaison between internal clients and site leaders, facilitating effective information flow. Partners with QA management to ensure deliverables meet expectations and financial and timeline commitments.

A day in the Life:

  • Identify improvement projects and initiatives. 
  • Drive projects to completion with measurable outcomes. 
  • Gather stakeholder input and facilitate integration of perspectives and ideas. 
  • Document meeting minutes, align on decisions, and translate outcomes into actions. 
  • Create high quality presentations and communicate with impact, balancing detail and brevity. 

Keys to Success:

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent and relevant formal academic / vocational qualification

Experience

  • Previous experience that provides the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the job (comparable to 8+ years). 
  • In some cases, an equivalency, consisting of a combination of appropriate education, training and/or directly related experience, will be considered sufficient for an individual to meet the requirements of the role. 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: 

  • Knowledge of analytical chemistry and strong business acumen. 
  • Familiarity with the contract testing business and clinical research/development. 
  • Expertise in business analytics, operations, and process improvement. 
  • Excellent problem solving, judgment, and decision-making skills. 
  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities. 
  • Proven organizational and negotiation skills. 
  • Extensive project management knowledge and leadership. 
  • Understanding of basic budgeting and forecasting terms and definitions. 
  • Superior time management, planning, and organizational skills. 
  • Familiarity with laboratory requirements, ICH guidelines, USP requirements, and FDA guidance. 
  • Ability to multitask and effectively prioritize workload. 
  • Ability to work effectively with multilevel teams. 
  • Ability to thrive in a fast paced, undefined environment. 
  • Strong relationship management skills.
