Job Summary
The Sr Product Engineer at Jabil, Inc. will be responsible for leading product development and sustaining engineering activities, ensuring product quality, performance, and manufacturability throughout the product lifecycle.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead and participate in the design, development, and validation of new products and product enhancements, from concept to mass production.
- Conduct detailed engineering analysis, including FMEAs, DFM/DFA, and tolerance stack-ups, to optimize product design and manufacturing processes.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including R&D, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, and IT to define product requirements, specifications, and test plans.
- Serve as a key technical contributor within SAP-driven product and manufacturing workflows, supporting agile execution and SCRUM-based project structures.
- Leverage Procore or similar project management platforms to support cross-functional coordination, documentation, and execution for complex engineering projects.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues related to product design, materials, manufacturing processes, and power distribution systems.
- Develop and execute product validation and verification plans, including test fixture design and data analysis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives for existing products, focusing on cost reduction, quality enhancement, and performance optimization.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Manage project timelines, budgets, and resources for assigned product development activities.
- Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders on technical matters and project status.
- Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards, safety requirements, and regulatory guidelines, particularly related to low-voltage electrical systems and power distribution equipment.
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a related technical field. Master’s degree preferred.
- 4+ years of experience in product development, design engineering, or a similar role, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
- High-level experience with SAP, including strong understanding of integrated product, manufacturing, and project workflows; SCRUM Master–level familiarity with agile execution is strongly preferred.
- Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction / project execution platforms.
- Demonstrated experience with low-voltage switchgear and power distribution cabinet design, integration, or manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of product lifecycle management (PLM) and design control processes.
- Proficiency in CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, Creo, AutoCAD) for design and analysis.
- Experience with various manufacturing processes (e.g., machining, stamping, assembly, electrical integration).
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- Project management experience is a plus.
- Familiarity with quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100, IATF 16949) is desirable.
