Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems has an opening for Sr. Technical Editor and Writer 4 to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals within our Aircraft Solutions organization.
Job Description: Writes, rewrites and/or edits technical documents such as technical procedure manuals, user manuals, programming manuals, service manuals, operational specifications, and related technical publications to communicate clearly and effectively technical specifications and instructions to a wide range of audiences. Acquires subject knowledge by interviewing product developers, observing performance of production methods, referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals. Oversees preparation of illustrative materials, selecting drawings, sketches, diagrams and charts. Conducts quality review of materials.
Basic Qualifications:
Must have a minimum of 8 Years with Bachelors OR 6 Years with Masters OR 12 years of experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance within a reasonable amount of time as determined by business needs.
Preferred Qualifications: Previous IETM authoring and development experience. Familiar with unmanned aircraft & ground segment systems such as Interim COMSEC Solutions (ICS) are highly desirable. Familiarity with development processes associated with Time Compliant Technical Orders (TCTO's). Lead experience using AGILE & JIRA best practices. General understanding of S1000D, SGML or XML authoring software, common source database, and technical publications development processes.

Liaison: Serves as consultant to management and special external spokesperson for the organization on major matters pertaining to its policies, plans, and objectives. Acts as an advisor to senior management and customers.
Primary Level Salary Range: $97,100.00 - $145,700.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
