The Sr. ALC Principal will be responsible for providing the technical and scope direction for our Advanced Logistical Centers (ALC’s), in coordination with our Global Infrastructure Architecture team and our Operational leadership
This is a key and pivotal role in successfully implementing the ALC Information strategy and roadmap (reference Project deliverable). The Sr. Principal is expected to have a broad and deep technical background in ALC Information architecture. The Sr. Principal researches current trends and makes recommendations to Information Leadership for updates to the Information strategy and roadmap.
The Sr. Principal is responsible for pulling various information resources together to solve complex problems, as assigned by the Operations team and the CISO.
The Sr. Principal should have excellent executive presence and be able to communicate in both a deeply technical manner as well as at executive levels.
The Sr. Principal is expected to work autonomously and collaboratively with Information leadership and associates. The Sr. Principal will have mastered the art of persuasion. The Sr. Principal will play a key role in all projects, including reviewing all project charters, designs, and deliverables.
The Sr. Principal constantly and consistently demonstrates innovation and ability to challenge the status quo. The Sr. Principal is regarded within industry as an expert and must be willing to demonstrate their expertise through external engagements with customers and through external speaking engagements.
Your role:
Project Deliverables - Reviews and approves program and project deliverables. When multiple options exist, the Sr. Principal makes a recommendation to Ingram Micro Architecture team and the Operational leadership team for the following areas:
RF/WIFI Technologies
Security Camera technology
Access Control technology (Badge).
Problem Solving - The Sr. Principal will be assigned technical and complex problems to solve. The Sr. Principal must be able to dissect a problem, engage with the right resources, and methodically solve problems. The Sr. Principal must be able to document and explain the root cause to problems and make recommendations on how to resolve the issue or problem.
Technology & Trends - The Sr. Principal is responsible for staying current on ALC technologies and trends with focus on the area’s specified. The Sr. Principal makes recommendations to Information Technology leadership on how new technology might further the organization’s goals and objectives, how it fits into the overall Information Technology strategy, and makes recommendations on how to incorporate into projects (or create new projects) and how to appropriately scope the project.
Risk-Based Decisioning - The Sr. Principal can make risk-based decisions. The Sr. Principal has extremely advanced knowledge of how to quantify risk (using a variety of models) and make decisions based on financial return on investment (or return on risk). The Sr. Principal can rationalize a list of projects and make decisions on how to force rank them based on risk.
Best Practices - The Sr. Principal is an expert in information processes and best practices.
Strategy & Roadmap - Under the direction of Information leadership and Ingram Micro Operations team, the Sr. Principal will be responsible for maintaining the information strategy (and roadmap).
Presenting - The Sr. Principal creates and, in some cases, presents to the CISO, CIO/CDO, and CEO (or executive leadership team). The Sr. Principal must be able to explain and document complex technical items at an executive level.
Training & Mentoring - The Sr. Principal is a technical mentor and provides coaching to Ingram Micro IT and Operational teams. The Sr. Principal will develop technical trainings to the entire information and Operational team. The Sr. Principal will review training content for technical accuracy and assist, when necessary, in presenting training (in coordination with the Information awareness team).
Process Development - The Sr. Principal must be able to develop, document, and implement complex business processes across multiple teams and domains.
Business Acumen - Must be able to demonstrate an ability to harmonize information initiatives, processes, tools with business requirements, strategies, and budget.
Help Desk - The Sr. Principal is responsible for assisting the Helpdesk by reviewing and consult on investigation, containment, remediation, and recommendations during a high-severity incident.
What you bring to the role:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Science, Math or an ALC Operational background.
Work Experience: 10+ years' experience in information experience (preferably in various disciplines) and an operational background.
Expert knowledge and understanding in various disciplines such as policy, training, risk management, supply chain security, security engineering & architecture, and project management.
Strong communication (i.e., written and verbal), presentation, teamwork skills and resourcefulness.
Deep understanding of risk, business acumen, and ROI.
* Position requires occasional travel, including international travel.
The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $119,600.00 - $203,300.00 per year.The ranges above reflect the potential annual base pay across the U.S. for all roles; the applicable base pay range will depend on the candidate’s primary work location, pay grade, and variable compensation plan. Individual base pay within each range depends on various factors, in addition to primary work location, such as complexity and responsibility of role, job duties/requirements, and relevant experience and skills. Base pay ranges are reviewed and typically updated each year. Offers are made within the base pay range applicable at the time of hire. New hires starting base pay generally falls in the bottom half (between the minimum and midpoint) of a pay range.
