The School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is seeking to hire a Research Fellow (Battery Research – Electrolytes).
We are seeking to hire a Research Fellow to drive cutting-edge research in advanced batteries. The incumbent will develop new electrolytes, interphases, and electrode materials, advancing fundamental understanding and practical performance of high-energy cell chemistries for energy storage systems. This role directly supports NTU’s mission to lead sustainable energy solutions for global impact.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct independent and collaborative research on battery materials, electrolytes, and interphase engineering.
Design and perform advanced electrochemical testing.
Synthesize novel molecules and materials for battery electrolyte and interphase designs.
Develop AI/ML methods to accelerate materials discovery for battery applications.
Utilize and develop sophisticated characterization techniques to probe electrode interphase evolutions.
Publish research outcomes in leading journals and present at international conferences.
Collaborate with internal/external partners, including industry and international research groups.
Contribute to grant proposals, project reports, and lab safety/management operations.
Job Requirements:
Education qualifications: PhD in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, Physics, or related fields.
Soft skills: Independent thinker, excellent communicator, collaborative team player, and mentor
Hard skills: Expertise in electrochemistry, spectroscopy, microscopy, and/pr computational modeling.
Experience: Strong track record in battery research, evidenced by publications in reputable journals.
Competencies: Strong problem solving, creativity in research design, and commitment to academic excellence
