The Sunrun Legal Team is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Senior Litigation Paralegal to support the Legal Department's litigation, employment, regulatory, and compliance work. Under the supervision of attorneys on the Legal Team, you will provide critical support in the intake, management, investigation, and resolution of employment, consumer, and regulatory matters across litigation, arbitration, demand letters, subpoenas, and other dispute formats. This role will help the Legal Department manage legal matters, enable more efficient management of outside counsel, and improve early-stage resolution of disputes. You will also support the company's compliance program and drive process improvements across the Legal Department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Maintain a complete and accurate list of litigation, pre-litigation, regulatory, arbitration, subpoena and demand letters. 

  • Assist with the intake, routing, tracking, and processing of employment disputes, consumer complaints, subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, arbitration demands, and litigation matters. 

  • Support day-to-day case administration for employment, consumer, personal injury, regulatory, arbitration, and pre-litigation matters.

  • Conduct factual research and gather relevant information necessary to respond to escalated customer complaints, employment demands, demand letters, subpoenas, discovery requests, arbitration demands, regulatory inquiries, and summons/complaints. 

  • Assist attorneys in preparing responses to, employment demands, consumer complaints, subpoenas, discovery requests, arbitration demands, regulatory inquiries, and summons/complaints. 

  • Coordinate with internal business partners, People team members, Employee Relations, operations teams, and other stakeholders to collect documents, facts, timelines, and other information needed for legal review. 

  • Attend meetings in place of attorneys, where appropriate, to gather facts, coordinate follow-up items, or deliver attorney-approved guidance. 

  • Prepare chronology of events, factual summaries, matter reports, and trend analysis based on research results.

  • Maintain relevant databases, trackers, calendars, and files for effective case management, including Legal Tracker, Salesforce-related workflows, and other Legal Department systems. 

  • Calendar hearing dates, response deadlines, filing deadlines, discovery deadlines, mediation dates, arbitration dates, and other litigation or compliance deadlines. 

  • Assist attorneys and outside counsel with discovery, document collection, witness coordination, settlement support, mediation preparation, arbitration preparation, and litigation strategy support. 

  • Assist and work cohesively with attorneys, paralegals, outside counsel, Legal Operations, Compliance, Employee Relations, People Operations, and other professionals across Sunrun. Analyze and identify weaknesses and areas for improvement to mitigate risks.

  • Support compliance workstreams by tracking deliverables, coordinating stakeholders, maintaining project plans, gathering information, preparing status reports, and helping ensure timely execution of compliance initiatives. 

  • Prepare, compile, and submit required compliance reports and filings to federal, state, and local regulators, ensuring accuracy and adherence to submission deadlines.
     

  • Serve as project manager for designated compliance workstreams, including developing timelines, tracking milestones, coordinating cross-functional input, and escalating issues as needed.

  • Assist attorneys and outside counsel in matters of consumer compliance, arbitration, regulatory inquiries, and litigation.

  • Support outside counsel management by helping track matter status, deadlines, budgets, invoices, document requests, and action items. 

  • Assist attorneys with travel arrangements, expense reports, meeting coordination, and other administrative matters as needed. 

  • Other duties/responsibilities as needed and assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • This position will be in one of our Corporate offices in San Francisco or Lehi.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Extensive experience in multitasking projects, workloads, and competing priorities.

  • Meticulous organizational skills with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.

  • Adept at solving problems independently, effectively, and in alignment with Company policies and goals.

  • Proficient with Google Suite and use of AI platforms such as GCAI and Lexis Nexis AI.

  • Fluent in information technology, software, and systems, including, for example, Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and databases.

  • Experience with project management across teams and executing on strict deadlines.

  • Familiarity with all aspects of litigation with an emphasis on employment law matters.

  • Strong preference for experience at a law firm or in-house.

  • Requires a minimum of 8 years of experience or equivalent combination of education and work experience.

  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred. Paralegal school/paralegal certificate not required.

  • Demonstrate proficiency in utilizing AI tools to enhance productivity and streamline workflows, or possess the agility and "growth mindset" to rapidly master new AI technologies as they are integrated into Sunrun’s operations.

Starting salary/wage for this opportunity:

$98,385.57 to $131,180.76
