The Sr. Operations Supervisor oversees the business of the division. This includes, but is not limited to, the customer service, safety, operational efficiencies and overall personnel management within the division.
Key Accountabilities
- Responsible for the supervision of all operating and maintenance staff to ensue safe, efficient operations in a fast paced environment.
- Management and oversight of all Field Supervisors and Operations Supervisors to ensure they are supported.
- Develop, implement and track team goals that are in line with senior management and regional goals.
- Manage and continue to build on the existing relationship with the union. Be the main point of contact for all union matters, meetings, grievances, etc.
- Identify issues, whether they be: process, operations, safety, environmental, etc. and ensure that they are resolved in a timely manner. Communicate up to Operations Manager, Branch Manager or above to ensure they are made aware of significant concerns or issues.
- Oversee the EHS program (with support from EHS Advisors) at the facility and ensure compliance with all standards, policies, procedures and safe practices and training programs.
- Supervise daily operations, including visiting sites, and provide leadership to operations teams and field supervision.
- Oversee and ensure compliance with preventative maintenance programs, including ensuring equipment is pulled (when required) to be able to be serviced.
- Ensure all visitors to site (contractors, brokers, etc.) are complying with site and corporate safety policies.
- Communicate with key clients to ensure we are providing the required service levels, and address any potential issues in a timely manner.
- Support the commercial team and build relationships with new and existing clients to grow service offering. Support RFP/RFQ and bidding efforts from an operational perspective.
- Assist in planning, execution and tracking of major projects.
- Other tasks as directed by the Operations Manager
Requirements
- College diploma / degree in related field or equivalent work experience (3‐5 years in Supervisory role).
- 3+ years experience in waste/industrial services industries and unionized environment considered an asset.
- Excellent organization and communication skills
