Objective of the position

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play a key role in the mechanical design and integration of camera systems, monitors, and display modules for automotive applications. You will leverage your strong foundation in automotive mechanical engineering, along with expertise in camera and monitor hardware development, mass production processes, and thermal and mechanical performance management.

Characterization of activities

  • Contribute to the mechanical design and industrialization of automotive camera and display systems (e.g., rear-view, side-view, surround view, instrument cluster displays) using your senior-level expertise.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams (electrical, software, optical) to ensure seamless integration of imaging hardware.
  • Develop and validate detailed CAD models and drawings, and perform tolerance analyses, DFMEA, and design reviews to ensure reliability and manufacturability.
  • Apply advanced problem-solving skills to address mechanical challenges related to thermal dissipation, vibration, sealing (IP rating), and alignment precision.
  • Engage with suppliers and customers on component development, tooling, validation, and ensure compliance with automotive quality standards (IATF 16949, ISO 26262).
  • Support technical reviews and share expertise, including environmental and durability testing, while mentoring junior engineers when needed.

Education, Experience and Knowledge

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent proven expertise).
  • 5+ years of experience in automotive mechanical design, including hands-on development and integration.
  • Proficiency in CAD tools (Siemens NX, Creo, CATIA, or Inventor) and strong knowledge of materials, thermal management, sealing, and mounting systems.
  • Familiarity with automotive standards and validation procedures for electronic modules and environmental testing.
  • Experience with mechatronic product development, preferably in ADAS systems, camera/monitor hardware, and mass production processes.
  • Understanding of advanced analysis and integration requirements, such as thermal simulation (CFD), mechanical FEA, optical alignment, and automotive communication protocols (LVDS, Ethernet, CAN).
