Job Summary

Under general direction, the Sr. Manager, Supply Chain Finance provides financial leadership and vision across the business to ensure that financial commitments are achieved.  This role is the face of Supply Chain Finance to the Officer team and senior Supply Chain and Finance leadership and acts as a business partner to the segment, providing analytical rigor and insight to drive profitable growth.  This is a critical role in driving financial accountability and acumen throughout the organization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serves as financial thought leader for multiple functions across the organization and plays a major role in the development of new strategies.
  • Develops strategies and implements processes that impact the go-forward operations of the Finance function as well as other organizational functions.
  • Participates significantly in the development and support of Interstate's transformation initiatives, including, but not limited to, Fulfillment Center development, inbound/outbound freight programs, and global sourcing strategy.
  • Leads ad hoc analysis and cross-functional projects that will help to drive operational efficiency and optimize profitability.
  • Gathers, organizes, interprets and reports on large amounts of business performance data and develops financial forecasts and models to drive the business.
  • Assesses and communicates key drivers of cost and expense changes to Supply Chain and Finance leadership, as well as provides guidance and recommendations on additional levers to drive profitable revenue growth.
  • Directly partners with the Supply Chain and Finance leadership teams to ensure that cost analytics are robust and fully vetted; ensures that all appropriate cost actions are being implemented.
  • Responsible for analysis of COGS drivers, including actionable volume, rate, and mix analytics.
  • Responsible for appropriate operating expense management with the Supply Chain team, including people costs and all discretionary spend. Partners to build and instill a zero-based budgeting mindset across the organization.
  • Accountable for all phases of the financial planning cycle including collection, consolidation, preparation, and maintenance of data, models, and schedules related to the planning cycle.
  • Analyzes, assesses, and explains trends, variances, risks, and opportunities related to plan and/or forecasts to Supply Chain and Finance leadership; provides guidance and recommendations to course correct performance, as necessary.
  • Accountable for timely and accurate periodic reporting of actual performance versus plan and/or forecast expectations and prior year performance.
  • Presents financial results to Finance leadership in Monthly Business Reviews and Officer team and Supply Chain leadership in Quarterly Business Reviews.
  • Collaborates with Supply Chain and Commercial leadership on the development, evaluation, and execution of specific business initiatives; appropriately challenges and fully vets decisions that may negatively impact Interstate Batteries' financial standing.
  • Leads and motivates a team of analysts, promoting a working environment aligned with our Purpose & Values. Coaches, mentors, and develops Team Members, oversees new employee onboarding, and provides career development planning/opportunities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related field required; MBA strongly preferred
  • 8+ years of professional finance experience required
  • Strong business acumen with an ability to anticipate impact of decisions and initiatives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong negotiation skills and the ability to influence others, including senior leadership
  • Continuous improvement mindset
  • Demonstrated ability to lead dynamic teams
  • Proficient in the utilization of MS products (Excel, Word, PPT, and Outlook)
  • Experience with SAP is desirable
  • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) and working with large data sets is preferred

Scope Data

  • Accountable for the financial management of Interstate Batteries Supply Chain costs, accounting for $1B in cost of goods sold (COGS), $300M in working capital, and ~$30M in operating expenses.
  • Management and coaching of direct reports.
  • Collaborates with and supports Supply Chain, Commercial FP&A, and Corporate accounting professionals

Work Environment

  • Ability to sustain posture in a seated position for prolonged periods of time.
  • Regularly required to use hands to grasp or handle, talk and hear, stand and walk.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move 20+ lbs.
  • Prolonged use of personal computer & telephone.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle.
  • Travel required up to 15% of time.
  • Ability to work both onsite and remotely.
