JOB DESCRIPTION
This role can work remote anywhere in the United States.
This role is part of a team responsible for independent oversight, challenge, and assurance of the firm’s Technology, Information Security, and Data risks. The role evaluates the design and operating effectiveness of first-line controls, assesses alignment with regulatory expectations, and provides risk-based insights to senior management. Working closely with Internal Audit and other stakeholders, this role ensures technology, information security, and data risks are identified, measured, monitored, and reported in a manner consistent with the organization’s needs.
Build a deep knowledge of GreenDot’s Technology Platform and utilize technical experience to build Technology, Information Security and Data Risk Assessment frameworks for Green Dot’s Banking products and services.
Perform review and oversight of GreenDot’s existing and new Product, Platform, Technology and Information security strategy, architecture and control implementation and ensure adequacy against internal acceptable risk thresholds and regulatory requirements with a focus on systemic exposures.
Define and Monitor Key Risk Indicators (KRIs) and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to information security, technology risk and product risk against established thresholds and regulatory requirements
Perform independent testing and validation of Technology and Information Security controls to assess control design and operating effectiveness against key risk domains
Review and provide credible challenge to first line of defense control testing results, methodologies, and conclusions, as well as risk assessments, control design decisions, compensating controls, and risk acceptance justifications, to ensure accuracy, completeness, and regulatory alignment
Collaborate effectively with business owners, 1LOD and other stakeholders to establish and maintain efficient, scalable risk assessment processes
Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or an equivalent technical field required.
Total 7+ years of experience overall. 5–7 years of experience in Money Movement, Banking, or Fintech environments.
Demonstrated technical depth with the ability to engage credibly with Product Managers, Engineers, and Technical Architects; capable of reviewing and challenging High‑Level Design (HLD), Low‑Level Design (LLD), and end‑to‑end product architecture.
Strong analytical, documentation, and communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical concepts and risks for both technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Ability to articulate issues, control gaps, and recommendations clearly to support sound risk awareness and decision‑making.
Familiarity with financial services regulatory expectations and examiner‑driven environments highly preferred.
Comfort with AI products such as copilot is a plus
