The Senior Manager, Fulfillment Operations – Canada will lead strategic and operational initiatives across warehousing, distribution, and transportation, functions to drive excellence in service delivery, cost optimization, and team performance. This role will work closely with the Customer Service and Commercial teams to ensure strong alignment in day-to-day operations and service outcomes. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of continuous improvement, agility, and collaboration across the Baxter Canadian supply chain network. The ideal candidate will be a dynamic leader with a strong background in operational execution, cross-functional stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making.

What You'll Be Doing:

Leadership & Strategy

  • Lead and develop high-performing teams across fulfillment, and logistics operations. Partner closely with the Customer Service team, which has a dotted-line relationship to this role, to ensure alignment on daily operational execution
  • Champion Baxter’s culture levers of Speed, Simplicity, Collaboration, and Courage.
  • Set strategic direction and deploy operational plans aligned with business objectives.
  • Sponsor and lead cross-functional initiatives to improve service, cost, and compliance.

Operational Excellence

  • Oversee fulfillment operations including inventory management, frozen shipper supply continuity, and reverse logistics.
  • Drive operational excellence within our own Baxter network, as well as our 3PL partner in Canada.
  • Implement and sustain Baxter Operating System (BOS) practices to optimize performance and enforce a continuous improvement mindset.
  • Monitor KPIs and use data analytics to identify opportunities for improvement.

Customer Service & Collaboration

  • Collaborate with the Customer Service and Commercial teams to ensure timely and accurate resolution of customer inquiries, returns, and complaints.
  • Act as a local escalation point for operational service issues, working in partnership with the Customer Service and Commercial organizations to dive resolution
  • Coordinate with customer service, commercial teams, 3PLs, transportation, and warehousing to ensure seamless operations.

Compliance & Safety

  • Ensure fulfillment operations comply with cGDP, cGMP, OSHA, DEA, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Promote a zero-harm safety culture and lead site-level EHS initiatives.

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead process improvement initiatives focused on cost reduction, efficiency, and service enhancement.
  • Encourage innovation and assess feasibility of new technologies and automation.

Market Planning

  • Partner with the market planning leadership to ensure the Canadian network inventory levels are optimized by site to mitigate back orders.
  • Proactively monitor DC inventory levels and guide our 3PL to transfer stock as appropriate to maximize efficiency and limit back orders.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Leadership, Logistics, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of progressive experience in supply chain or fulfillment operations, with at least 4 years in a leadership role.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to influence across levels.
  • Proven experience in operational excellence, LEAN/Six Sigma, and data analytics.
  • Experience with ERP and WMS systems (JDE, SwissLog preferred).
  • Agile mindset with ability to thrive in a dynamic, matrixed environment.
  • Fluent English and French language skills are required.
  • Experience in regulated healthcare or pharmaceutical distribution.
  • Familiarity with SAP and warehouse automation.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and other analytical tools.
