job purpose: The Sr. Manager, Capacity Planning is a key leader within the End-to-End Planning team, responsible for designing and executing supply chain capacity, total network supply, and resiliency plans across fairlife’s manufacturing and supplier network. This role ensures that production, filtration, and upstream milk & materials requirements are aligned with current and future demand scenarios, driving efficient asset utilization and supporting growth initiatives. In addition, this leader will collaborate closely with procurement and suppliers to strengthen resiliency and scalability across the supply chain. Leveraging advanced analytics, scenario modeling, and capacity optimization techniques to identify constraints, mitigate risks, and inform capital investment decisions. This position partners cross-functionally with Manufacturing, Engineering, Finance, Procurement, Strategy, and Supply Chain Planning to ensure plans are feasible, cost-effective, and aligned with business priorities.
responsibilities:
- Own enterprise capacity planning across processing, packaging, filtration, co-manufacturing operations, and our supplier network.
- Develop short-, mid-, and long-range capacity and supply models from first principles to support operating plans, annual budgets, and strategic growth initiatives.
- Partner with Procurement, Strategy, and Materials Planning to design supplier resiliency plans and scale supplier capacity to fuel growth.
- Collaborate with Manufacturing, Engineering, and Maintenance teams to validate capacity assumptions and ensure alignment with equipment capabilities and labor availability.
- Quantify single points of failure and recovery paths across the end-to-end supply network using scenario-based analysis.
- Partner with Finance and Commercial teams to integrate capacity plans into S&OP and integrated business planning (IBP), innovation launches, and scenario planning for new product introductions.
- Lead cross-functional capacity reviews through the supply chain (supplier-to-customer) to ensure proactive identification of risks and development of mitigation strategies.
- Develop and maintain advanced scenario planning models to drive supplier & farm capacity requirements, milk and dairy bi-products volumes, and direct/indirect material requirements.
- Act as a technical planning lead in digital planning transformation, leveraging advanced planning tools to enhance visibility and responsiveness across our supply network.
- Provide thought leadership on capacity and resiliency planning best practices, influencing strategic decisions on network design and investment.
- Establish modeling standards and reusable frameworks/tools that scale across the End-to-End Planning organization.
skills/qualifications required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Applied Mathematics, Economics, or similar quantitative fields required; MBA relevant.
- 7–10 years of experience in capacity planning, supply chain planning, network modeling, advanced analytics roles, or related supply chain fields.
- Advanced proficiency required in:
- Microsoft Excel (complex formulas, scenario logic, solver builds)
- Planning platforms (Anaplan, Lyric, Blue Yonder, optimization or simulation tools)
- Power BI or Tableau for analytical visualization
- Programming (SQL / Python) experience a plus
- Skilled in organizing resources and establishing priorities.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and curiosity required.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.
- Comfortable working independently on ambiguous problem sets in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
- Able to communicate complex analyses clearly to senior leaders without oversimplifying.
- Experience in storytelling and presentation to senior/executive leadership.
- SAP/Dynamics 365 experience preferred but not required.
