Sit within the global Gilead IT organization within the US Commercial Field Enablement IT team with the primary responsibility of supporting US Commercial & Medical teams for field-led events such as speaker programs, exhibits & sponsorships, community liaison led events, etc. This role reports to the US Commercial IT Field Enablement lead.
This role will support and liaise with a broad set of business stakeholders across the US & Global Commercial & Medical Operations teams, field sales and medical teams, and Business Conduct. The role will be responsible for managing capabilities across multiple Salesforce and Vault platform applications and portals such as Veeva Events Management, Centris, Speaker Resource Center, etc. Responsibilities would include managing current capabilities, and tracking & executing on an enhancement roadmap.
The role will also engage across IT teams who manage/support systems within the Capability ecosystem, i.e., Veeva / Vault CRM, Concur, Veeva Align; integration touchpoints with tools such as Master Data Management platform, Commercial Analytics Hub, Business Conduct Data lake, as well as the broader IT teams that enable the overall working experience for the business teams we support.
Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Enhance and manage capabilities for field-led events across multiple applications and business stakeholder teams
Work with the MSP team to ensure applications continue to meet business needs
Work with enterprise IT teams to ensure in-scope applications remain compliant with Gilead security, architecture, compliance and other requirements
Own cloud-based CRM data replication layer supporting compliance and all downstream integrations
Manage and monitor replication pipelines for data integrity and availability
Define and govern RPO and RTO for business-critical data flows
Troubleshoot replication failures and latency issues
Architect and operate the CRM data replication layer on AWS S3, ensuring high availability, performance, and scalability
Partner with MDM, Analytics Hub, Compliance, and Business Conduct teams to ensure downstream readiness
Manage AWS S3 storage, replication, and cost optimization
Works closely with the respective Product Owners for Veeva / Vault CRM, Veeva Align and other field applications to ensure end user experience of field applications remains consistent and positive
Basic Qualifications:
12+ Years with High School Diploma or equivalent OR 10+ Years with AA OR 8+ Years with BS / BA OR 6+ Years with MS / MA / MBA
Preferred Qualifications:
Computer Science degree or related discipline is preferred
5+ experience in a similar role within the Biotech / Pharmaceutical industry with demonstrated applied technical and functional knowledge
Strong understanding of Salesforce and Vault platforms
Strong hands-on experience with AWS services including S3, Lambda, IAM, KMS, CloudWatch, Glue, and EventBridge
Strong understanding of data replication architectures
Experience managing replication operations
Knowledge of RPO/RTO and resiliency concepts
High level of personal integrity consistent with Gilead’s core values (Excellence, Accountability, Teamwork, Integrity and Inclusion)
Understanding of speaker programs landscape; Business Conduct rules around attendance & spend in US
Experience with enterprise platform / application assessments
Experience working in a multi-vendor scenario; vendor management experience is a plus
Cloud cost management and optimization experience
Experience supporting governed/compliant data environments (HIPAA, GDPR, FDA 21 CFR Part 11)
AWS Certified Solutions Architect
Strong communication skills to engage directly with business users, IT and vendor teams
