We are seeking a technically strong Senior Facilities Engineer – Regulated Environment to support the facilities infrastructure at our San Diego headquarters. This high-impact individual contributor role blends hands-on facilities engineering with ownership of Facilities-related compliance, documentation, and systems governance.
The ideal candidate has practical expertise in HVAC, MEP systems, tenant improvements, and building infrastructure, and can translate that knowledge into structured, audit-ready processes.
This role will support sustained ISO 13485 compliance within Facilities while strengthening system reliability, documentation integrity, and operational discipline across Arena (QMS), Jira (work order management), and Siemens (BMS). The position reports to the Sr. Facilities Manager and is based on site in San Diego.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Provide engineering support for HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, and building utility systems
- Support maintenance and troubleshooting of Building systems, HVAC/exhaust, gas distribution, cold rooms, RODI systems, and related infrastructure
- Monitor and analyze Siemens BMS (Siemens Desigo CC or similar) to identify trends, anomalies, and opportunities for proactive maintenance
- Support tenant improvement (TI) projects including: Review of construction documents and specs, coordination with contractors and vendors, and verification of installation against design intent.
- Maintain and update facility drawings using AutoCAD and Bluebeam
- Serve as the Facilities subject matter expert for ISO 13485 requirements
- Sustain audit readiness and support internal and external surveillance audits
- Own document control and records management processes within Arena (QMS) for Facilities
- Author, revise, and maintain SOPs, Work Instructions, forms & logs, and engineering documentation
- Support change control activities related to facilities systems and infrastructure
- Conduct impact assessments for equipment or infrastructure modifications
- Ensure facilities documentation aligns with regulatory and quality requirements
- Drive structured and consistent use of Arena (QMS), Jira (work order/ticketing workflows), Siemens BMS
- Align work order workflows with documented SOPs
- Identify process gaps and implement scalable improvements within Facilities operations
Education and Experience:
- A Bachelors degree with 2+ years’ experience, or 4+ years of equivalent hands-on experience in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, facilities engineering, or related Industry field
- 2+ year experience within a regulated manufacturing environment (ISO 13485, GMP, FDA, or similar)
- Experience with arena (QMS)and Seimens Desigo CC preferred but not required.
- Experience within the Life Sciences industry is preferred
- Strong systems/mechanical aptitude
- Customer service oriented
- Resourceful, flexible, and adaptable; no task is too big or too small
- Willingness to learn and expand skillset

- Support after-hours building needs and activities as required

Base Compensation Pay Range:
