Sr. Electrical Engineer (Contract)

SkyOS, our industry-first universal operating system for flight, provides any airplane or helicopter with a fly-by-wire flight management solution that significantly reduces the complexity of flying. Skyryse One, our first production aircraft powered by SkyOS, was unveiled in 2024 and features the simplest, safest, and most intuitive flight controls in general aviation.

SENIOR ELECTRICAL ENGINEER (Contract) - EL SEGUNDO, CA

As an Electrical Engineer, you will conduct critical design, development, prototyping, and testing for one of the most advanced flight control systems in the world. Working alongside some of the industries most talented professionals you will contribute to changing the way the world moves.
This is a full-time onsite opportunity based out of El Segundo, CA. 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop, test, and implement electrical systems for SkyOS
  • Design avionics hardware that complies with DO-160, DO-254 and other industry standards
  • Provide hands on support and troubleshooting of flight critical electronics within our systems integration lab
  • Work cross functionally with test, software, mechanical and systems engineers to ensure our system meets and exceeds customer requirements
  • Develop hardware Test Plans and Procedures
  • Design Electrical Test Fixtures

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's or Master’s Degree in Electrical Engineering 
  • Minimum 5 years aerospace-related engineering experience
  • Experience with Digital, Analog and power electronics product design with focus on Digital electronics.
  • Schematic Capture and PCB layout experience with Altium Designer or similar.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Experience with power supplies, definition and design, with a focus on reliability and ruggedness a plus
  • Experience with multi-bus connectivity and interfacing including backplanes, ARINC 429, RS422, CAN, I2C, SPI, etc.
  • Experience with motor controls, EMI, and harnessing
  • Knowledge of product design lifecycle, including interfacing with contract manufacturers, dealing with component obsolescence, etc.
  • Experience with documentation control systems, either manual (excel) or PLM, ERP, etc.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast paced environment

The posted salary range reflects the potential base pay for this role, adjusted to account for varying geographic markets. Final compensation will be based on factors such as your location, job-related skills, experience, and internal alignment, including equity and benefits.

  • Salary: $55.00 - $75.00
