The Senior Director, Trust, Safety and Security will provide leadership, oversight and expertise in matters related to protection of the corporate brand and facilities security. This position will manage a team and drive cross-functional collaboration to deploy and maintain security and safety technology, and overall policy enforcement. The role is responsible for safeguarding company patients, staff and property. Primary responsibilities include the development and management of programs to identify threats, vulnerabilities, malfeasance, and train, monitor, and enforce SOPs and policies related to physical security.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Handles ChenMed’s physical and personal security program, enabling the company to effectively manage risk of incident and business disruption as a result of security related issues.
- Develops short and long-term strategy for security operations.
- Evaluates, monitors and updates security systems and equipment to assure quality, consistency and efficiency for security processes and operations; makes recommendations for improvement when necessary.
- Recommends controls to reduce the risk of physical access issues and identify tailored business process safeguards.
- Develops and regularly updates, in collaboration with the legal department, facilities and information security, physical and personnel security-related corporate policies, procedures, and programs; works with internal and external business partners to ensure that the policies and procedures support and advance our competitive position.
- Implements and leads physical security enforcement strategy and establishes positive working relationships with cross functional stakeholders
- Supports Legal, Compliance and Employee Relations in any investigation involving employee, patient or third-party malfeasance and advises on enforcement strategies as needed.
- Strategizes and executes on a roadmap of projects to reduce security risks, working cross-functionally with other COEs such as Legal, Compliance, Information Security among others.
- Develops a comprehensive training program and any necessary materials for internal teams, as well as any outsourced partners.
- Provides reports to the executive team regarding effectiveness of physical security enforcement measures and makes recommendations for the adoption of new procedures.
- Enables the company to effectively manage risk of incident and business disruption as a result of security related issues.
- Responds and monitors evaluates and develops responses to security threats and crises to provide advice and assistance.
- Reports on incidents (and near incidents) with recommended action plan and coordination of proactive prevention solutions.
- Creates cost-effective plans and exerts strong leadership in crisis management situations arising from natural disasters, physical threats, political risks, and domestic acts of terrorism.
- Oversees training and readiness for de-escalation, escalation crisis response, inclusive of facilities and staff safety, for fire, active shooter, or any other anticipated risk.
- Develops an intelligence-based threat assessment process to support ChenMed’s sites and operations.
- Serves as security advisor for all major construction projects and major reconfigurations from a security design and installation perspective, including all meaningful research and the deployment of technology solutions and innovative security management techniques.
- Manages security to support the current company culture and business. Assesses senior management risks and makes recommendations to support their activities.
- Selects and supervises outside protective services contractors.
- Builds and maintains a network of security vendors, resources and consultants to augment existing capabilities and uses these resources when appropriate.
- Develops existing staff and recruits as needed.
- Performs other duties as assigned and modified at manager’s discretion.

- Excellent understanding of physical site security best practices, digital/cybersecurity and security operations and procedure best practices
- Exceptional attention to detail and consistent follow up to ensure the right results
- Proven business savvy, including an understanding of the marketplace, competitors, and technology and requirements for sustained operating results
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage time effectively, to meet schedules and deadlines, and to work under time pressure
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite products including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Ability and willingness to travel locally, regionally and nationwide up to 50% of the time
- Spoken and written fluency in English
- This job requires use and exercise of independent judgment
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE CRITERIA:
- Bachelor’s degree in Law Enforcement, Health Care Administration, Criminal Justice or related field is required; experience above the minimum required on a year-for-year basis may substitute for education
- Master’s degree related to one of the above disciplines is preferred
- Ten (10) years of related experience with a minimum of four (4) years of managerial experience directly managing people and/or leadership experience leading teams, projects, programs or directing the allocation of resources
- Broad understanding of emerging security technologies preferred
PAY RANGE:
$166,652 - $238,075 Salary
