This role is part of Alcon's Commercial & General Management function, a team that oversees the company's commercial strategies to ensure efficiency and support strategic decision making as we transform the eye care industry.

The Sr. Director is a strategic leader responsible for crafting and implementing long-term plans that align global and regional service priorities with corporate objectives. This role drives transformation initiatives across the Global Services organization, leading cross-functional teams to improve operational efficiency, customer experience, and revenue growth. With deep expertise in strategic planning, financial modeling, and project governance, the Sr. Director ensures clarity in service economics, oversees key performance indicators, and facilitates planning cycles that support business health and strategic progress. Acting as a central partner to senior leadership, this role influences major decisions and manages risk. It communicates priorities across collaborators and applies advanced industry knowledge and project management tools to deliver measurable impact.

Specifics Include:

  • Lead the development and execution of long-term strategic plans, ensuring alignment with corporate & regional goals
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives that improve operational efficiency, customer experience, or revenue growth
  • Facilitate annual and quarterly planning cycles, including goal setting, resource allocation, and performance tracking.
  • Define and supervise benchmarks to assess organizational vitality and strategic advancement.
  • Partner with leadership to define and complete transformation initiatives
  • Conduct independent research and thought leadership activities, applying advanced knowledge to help get results
  • Make significant decisions within projects, including approving project budgets and prioritization
  • Communicate priorities and progress to stakeholders
  • Manage governance structures, track achievements, and manage risks for key projects and develop mitigation strategies.
  • Use project management tools and methodologies effectively
  • Provide strategic expertise and direction, influencing multiple projects and overall business outcomes
  • Conduct independent research and thought leadership activities, applying advanced knowledge to drive results
  • Develop extended-range strategic plans to achieve business objectives and lead high-impact initiatives to drive organizational change
  • Foster relationships with key stakeholders and partners while being responsible for a large division or multiple departments
  • Collaborate with executive leadership to shape company strategy and make high-level decisions impacting projects and initiatives
  • Approve investments and strategic partnerships, evaluating and prioritizing strategic opportunities
  • Demonstrate critical thinking, advanced industry knowledge, and proficiency in developing and carrying out plans
  • Exhibit excellent communication, problem-solving, strong leadership, and change management skills
