Job Description

ERP Services is responsible for developing and maintaining our global Enterprise Resource Planning applications, primarily SAP.    SAP is Lilly’s backbone for all books and records, global commerce and trade, our supply chain and key portions of manufacturing.

The position is a senior leader within the SAP team and accountable for the Supply Chain and Mfg components of SAP.    The position is responsible for both the ongoing support/development of these components but also the expansion of Lilly manufacturing to new sites and the global implementations of eWM (warehouse) and TMS (transportation management).

 
Key Objectives/Deliverables:

  • Act as a senior leader of entire SAP program and oversee org of 5 M2's, approximately 50 Lilly staff and 200 vendor staff.
  • Work with P5's to oversee all SAP mfg and supply chain applications.
  • Partner closely with Supply Chain management business leaders on global direction and implementation.
  • Partner closely with MQ Tech organization on related programs, site activities and shared business partner spaces
  • Oversee implementations of SAP to all new Lilly Mfg site builds and to existing site expansions
  • Oversee delivery of SAP eWM (extended warehouse management) to all new applicable Lilly sites and warehouses and retrofits to existing sites and warehouses.
  • Vendor Management
    • Ownership of relationship with Accenture and oversight for our shared delivery model.
    • Partner, influence and provide oversight for SAP AMS primary partner
    • Partner and influence SAP MaxAttention service and product delivery teams.
  • Oversee delivery of SAP TMS (transportation management system) to all new and existing Lilly sites and warehouses.
  • Oversee delivery of BN4L (Business Network)
  • Closely partner with the Valuation and Control (finance, tax, commerce) side of SAP as well as the SAP infrastructure teams
  • including driving implementation of automated testing strategy and tooling for ERP.
  • Own and drive continuous improvement and automation of operations for the SAP functional teams, including driving implementation of automated testing strategy and tooling for ERP.
  • Partner with ERP Digital Platforms leader to identify and plan for future technical service needs that support evolving manufacturing and supply chain business requirements, including cloud capabilities, integration architecture, and emerging technologies
  • Provide financial oversight for all operational budgets and project budgets related to SAP SCM and Mfg.
  • Ensure successful delivery of manufacturing and supply chain scope for annual SAP Releases, including the delivery of new functionality, configuration changes, enhancements, integration testing, and functional cutover execution. Coordinate cross-functional stakeholder alignment, manage regulatory compliance requirements, minimize business disruption, and ensure post-go-live stabilization and support
  • Build key relationships in Pharma ERP community and join forces to influence key vendors and partners in development of Life Sciences SAP
  • Lead efforts to continue to find more efficiencies and cost savings in the support of ERP 

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with 10+ years IT experience
  • 10+ years SAP experience
  • 5+ year experience managing SAP systems and processes

Additional Skills/Preferences

  • Exposure to and experience with pharma mfg and supply chain processes.
  • Significant SAP leadership experience including large scale global programs, support strategies and influence with SAP and its network of partners
  • A high level of intellectual curiosity, external perspective, and innovation interest.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead a global team with a diverse set of skills and capabilities 5-8 years of management experience.

Actual compensation will depend on a candidate’s education, experience, skills, and geographic location.  The anticipated wage for this position is

$157,500 - $231,000

Full-time equivalent employees also will be eligible for a company bonus (depending, in part, on company and individual performance).
