The position is part of Life Science Solutions Group (LSG).

How you will make an impact:

As the Finance Controller in North America (NA), you will lead the region's controllership function for the Life Sciences Solutions Group. This is a key leadership role within LSG Controllership team. This role will work closely with the accounting teams, global shared service centers, group controllership team, and FP&A teams. The role is primarily responsible for accurate and timely consolidations and reporting of all NA entities.

What you will do:

  • Drive financial reporting and consolidation process for all sites within the NA region.
  • Oversight of the work performed by the local accounting teams supporting the Life Sciences Solutions Group in NA including the NA shared service center
  • Review balance sheet and income statement fluxes to analyze transactions and trends related to financial performance
  • Drive working capital performance and achievement of cash and DSO targets by the NA AR teams
  • Ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP, Sarbanes-Oxley requirements, company policy, approval authority matrix and standard operating procedure
  • Collaborate with technical accounting teams to review complex transactions to ensure accurate accounting treatment
  • Collaborate with Global Business Services (GBS) team to develop and optimize regional/country shared service strategy to drive operational efficiency
  • Purchase accounting support for NA Group acquisitions and integration into our accounting and reporting structure and processes
  • Coordination with external and internal auditors on audits and quarterly reviews
  • Evaluate efficiency and effectiveness of accounting processes. Coordinate accounting policy revisions/waivers to strengthen control environment and support the business

How you will get here:

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Advanced Qualification strongly desired (CPA or MBA)

Experience

  • 10 years of progressive accounting/finance leadership experience with a combination of public accounting and industry experience
  • Experience in leading a diverse global financial month-end while maintaining a strong control environment
  • Experience with JDE E1 and Hyperion Financial Management preferred

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP with proven technical skills including experience with complex revenue arrangements
  • Outstanding collaborator with excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and knows how to influence without authority.
  • Strong written communication skills, along with clear and concise verbal skills, are required.
  • Ability to drive continuous improvement with a successful track record of optimizing processes with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range estimated for this position based in California is $192,700.00–$289,000.00.
