Your New Role
We are seeking an experienced attorney who can support our Ad Sales organization by providing strategic legal guidance on advertising transactions, regulatory compliance, and innovative revenue initiatives across our media platforms. This role will partner closely with Ad Sales, Commercial Clearance and cross-functional legal and business teams to enable compliant and commercially viable advertising solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep experience in advertising law, strong commercial instincts, and the ability to operate independently in a dynamic environment.
Your Role Accountabilities
Ad Sales Legal Support
Provide day-to-day legal counsel to the Ad Sales team on a wide range of advertising matters
Draft and negotiate custom advertising agreements, including integrated and non-standard deals
Advise on complex and high-value transactions, ensuring alignment with business objectives while mitigating legal risk.
Advertising Law and Regulatory Compliance
Review campaigns for compliance and provide practical, business-oriented guidance
Issue-spot and counsel on evolving regulatory and industry standards impacting advertising practices.
Commercial Clearance Partnership
Support and guide the Commercial Clearance team in reviewing advertising content
Develop and refine internal guidelines and best practices to ensure consistency and compliance
Escalate and resolve sensitive or high-risk clearance issues
Strategic Advertising Initiatives
Advise on emerging and strategic ad initiatives, including:
Brand funded content deals
Principal media and custom media deals
Partner with business teams to structure new offerings in a legally compliant and scalable way
Ad Technology & Advanced Advertising
Provide legal support related to ad technology, including data-driven advertising, programmatic sales, and targeting practices
Collaborate with data and privacy team to address issues related to tracking, measurement and ad delivery
Maintain a working understanding of the evolving advanced advertising ecosystem
Risk Management & Training
Identify legal risks and propose practical mitigation strategies
Develop and deliver trainings to Sales and related teams on legal and compliance topics.
Qualifications & Experience
J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership
5+ years of relevant legal experience (including law firm experience) with a focus on advertising, media, or commercial transactions
Strong knowledge of advertising law and regulatory frameworks
Experience working closely with sales or revenue-generating teams
Experience drafting and negotiating complex commercial agreements
Familiarity with advertising review/clearance processes
Ability to work independently and also work well with a team
Working knowledge of ad technology, including programmatic advertising, data usage, and measurement frameworks
Experience advising on branded content and integrated marketing delas
Strong business judgment with the ability to balance legal risk and commercial objectives.
Excellent communication skills and ability to work cross-functionally
