The Senior Accountant will offer financial leadership to a manufacturing facility. This position will be highly visible within the organization and reporting directly to the Controller.  The Senior Accountant will be responsible for accuracy of the manufacturing costs, monthly closings and reporting, and forecasts vs actual variance reporting. Additionally, this role will directly partner with plant and department leaders, providing financial analytics and will have financial ownership of plant related projects.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

Primary responsibilities are to:

  • Oversee the day-to-day management of accounting activities related to general ledger accounts, including but not limited to inventories, prepaids, and other key balance sheet accounts.
  • Analyze departmental expenses and report on key financial performance (Scrap, yields, absorption and project costs) to senior management
  • Assist Controller in driving the annual budgeting and periodic forecasting processes. Provide monthly variance reports to site leadership/ department leads.
  • Assist in the preparation of the standard monthly management reports.  Perform detailed monthly variance analysis impacting the P&L and balance sheet.
  • Develop explanations on work order variances, including material labor and overhead variances.
  • Participate in the monthly financial close process for the local ledger, including preparation of the monthly journal entries, Account reconciliations and analysis on general ledger account balances.
  • Support financial compliance requirements, including the SOX 404 program and internal and external audits (US GAAP and statutory, as appropriate).
  • Take the functional lead in development and rolling of standard costs, through cumulative work order variance and purchase price variance analyses.
  • Other tasks and projects, as assigned.

DESIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required for his position.

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting required.
  • Certifications: None required, CPA a plus.
  • Experience: 5-7 years of manufacturing required - Cost Accounting with Manufacturing variance analysis and reporting
  • Experience with fully integrated ERP system required, Oracle experience desired
  • Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment, performing accounting tasks and providing financial information on a timely basis.
  • The individual must be highly detail oriented with strong computer skills, particularly intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal direction from management and a self- starter.

Salary Pay Range:

$81,650.00 - $112,700.00 USD Salary

Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Individual pay is determined by several factors including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay, employees may be eligible for bonus, commission, equity or other variable compensation.
