What You’ll Be Doing
The Senior Consultant, Risk Governance is a seasoned expert responsible for providing specialized consultation on large business projects to ensure ongoing regulatory oversight . The role leads projects supporting the development of practical, creative and sustainable business policies, processes, and procedures across the business. The Senior Consultant, Risk Governance works with minimal direction using extensive knowledge of risk management principles and multi-segment risk management to develop and implement regulatory requirements for the business based on CIBC’s overall compliance framework across all channels. The role exercises considerable judgement for decision making on complex issues, leading large initiatives that have potential impacts to multiple stakeholders, systems or processes. The role often operates in ambiguous situations, analyzing and assessing the materiality of risks on projects and developing mitigation plans while accountable to broadly defined objectives. You’ll support the overall mandate of the CAO(Chief Administrative Office) Risk Governance, control (GRC) team. You’ll lead the management of material, systemic and emerging risks by developing and implementing integrated control improvement solutions, across all products and distribution channels within CAO . You’ll lead the management of controls to mitigate operational exposures and potential losses and will support CIBC’s Control Framework to ensure compliance to regulatory, legislative, and operational requirements, including the efficient and effective management of deficiency remediation. As part of supporting the relationship, you’ll be a key contributor to the operational risk strategy for the assigned Line of Business (LOB) within CAO.
