Job Title: Sr. Category Manager, Logistics

Location: Shanghai

Responsibilities and Scope:

The Sr. Category Manager is responsible for logistics spend for APAC region. Responsibilities include supplier scouting, selection, supplier management, price & contract negotiation and working capital management. The Sr. Category Manager will develop and execute a category strategy that supports the company’s profitable growth plans. She/He will be the primary owner of cost savings and working capital improvements.  

Key Responsibilities:

Drive the team to deliver financial results for field, corporate and plants Engages key influence network to build sponsorship for change Supports team's decisions in the face of uncertainty Creates strategies to achieve long term goals across business Coaches team for their development, improves team capability and skillset Build integrity culture Develop logistics category strategy by category cluster, implement category strategy in sourcing decision of Logistics spend Optimizes and rationalize the supply base Supplier account management for selection of suppliers Manage supplier performance and organize regular business reviews with suppliers of responsibility. Negotiation and maintenance of contracts and supply conditions Insights to supply base market intelligence & dynamics, scouting new suppliers to support the business growth Build significant process muscle in VAVE, which will increase profitability Deploy a global preferred supplier strategy to improve supplier quality, delivery and cost Drive year-over-year improvement in logistics spend through supplier negotiation Drive year-over-year improvement in working capital through supplier DPO management Monitor and support procurement productivity improvement projects complete on schedule Report monthly operation result by category cluster

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, supply chain management, or related business degree. MBA is a distinct advantage At least 5 years’ sourcing/procurement experience and at least 5 years’ experience in logistics operation management, and 3 years’ experience in team management Excellent negotiation skills, being able to build a compelling case and convince others, familiar with contracting Experience in market investigation, purchasing strategy establishment and implementation, familiar with cost reduction methods and tools Good interpersonal skills to enable and manage strategic relationships Adaptable towards a rapidly changing environment Experience in working in multi-cultural teams Experience in working in multifunctional development teams Preferably experience in an innovative but also cost-driven environment Experience in international trade Honest and Integrity Fluent in English Willing to travel
