This role is part of Alcon's Supply Chain function, a team that manages the logistics, inventory management, and supply chain analytics for Alcon's industry leading products to ensure products are delivered efficiently and effectively so that people can see brilliantly. The Sr. Associate, Supply Chain Planning (Professional Path), is primarily responsible for optimizing supply chain outcomes through specialized tasks and independent research. You will gather demand information, analyze trends, adjust production schedules, manage inventory, and coordinate with procurement for timely materials.
Responsible for aligning sales forecasts with production capacities, inventory levels, and distribution strategies to optimize business performance. Responsible for planning, controlling, and managing finished goods inventory to meet production and customer requirements. Responsible for analyzing historical data and market trends to predict product or service demand and optimize resource allocation
Specifics Include:
Gather global and regional demand information, analyze trends, and adjust production schedules.
Manage inventory levels across distribution centers and markets to meet demand while minimizing excess.
Coordinate with global and regional procurement for timely material availability and secure materials while maintaining international supplier relationships.
Align with global production and capacity planning schedules.
Make decisions within the scope of assigned tasks using advanced knowledge and analytical skills.
Handle more complex and senior-level tasks compared to Sr. Associate II with exposure to global planning complexity.
Adhere to Good Practice (GxP) regulations by following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), maintaining accurate documentation, ensuring quality control, and completing required training in a regulated global environment.
Meet individual job requirements and contribute to global organizational compliance.
Commit to continuous improvement and regulatory compliance across all supported regions.
What you will bring to Alcon
Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent years of directly related experience (or high school +10 yrs; Assoc.+6 yrs; M.S.+0 yrs)
The ability to fluently read, write, understand and communicate in English
2 Years of Relevant Experience
Preferred:
Demonstrated experience aligning demand forecasts with production capacity and inventory strategies in a global or regional environment
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret historical data, identify trends, and translate analysis into actionable plans
Hands-on experience managing finished goods inventory across multiple distribution centers or markets
Experience working cross functionally with manufacturing, procurement, logistics, and commercial teams
Working knowledge of ERP and planning systems such as SAP, IBP, or similar planning tools
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables, formulas, data analysis, and scenario modeling
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and make informed decisions within an assigned scope
Experience working in a regulated environment with adherence to SOPs, documentation requirements, and compliance standards
Experience supporting global planning activities or complex multi region supply chains
Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly communicate analyses and recommendations
Demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement and operational excellence
