Job Summary

In this role, the individual will assist assigned sites in developing, implementing, and maintaining quality systems in compliance with applicable KHC policies, regulatory requirements, and third-party standards. This person will support plants in achieving Quality KPIs through participation in root cause activities, corrective and preventive action, and continuous improvement initiatives.  This position provides quality systems leadership and support for issue resolution at assigned sites as needed.  This individual will be responsible for providing guidance to assigned sites during internal and external audits, and may participate in HACCP validations, micro program assessments, allergen validations, and plant process audits. A successful candidate should have multiple functional job experiences and have experience utilizing Lean 6 Sigma tools.  

Essential Functions & Responsibilities  ​​

  • This role provides will also have the opportunity to serve as the business unit lead for assigned key quality systems initiatives.  This individual will serve as the primary point of contact for internal sites, and as a subject matter expert for selected external partners.  This person will be responsible for educating BU Quality staff in support of the identified quality systems initiative. 

  • Position offers the candidate to develop/enhance skills in Decision Quality, Risk Assessment & Management, Standing Alone, and Influencing without authority. 

Lead Quality Systems Improvement: 

  • Plant Programs-GMPs, QPEs, Security Assessments, Allergen Assessments, Lab Proficiency 

  • HACCP Compliance and Execution 

  • Weight Control Ongoing Execution and Compliance 

  • Regulatory Contacts 

  • Assisting with plant responses to regulatory issues – NR’s, MID, PFF and Label Claims 

  • Perform On site Golden rules assessments

  • Support quarterly traces for TE POD.

  • Review and approved exceptions for TE POD.

  • Support KHMS FSQ Pillar and journey per specific goals.

Own Auditing Readiness: 

  • Assure plants are always audit ready. 

  • New EM/Supplier site assessment and development 

  • Certified Supplier program management 

  • FSSC/QCMS Program Leadership 

  • Plant Audit Preparation and Corrective Action Responses 

  • Quality Chain Audit Responses 

Lead Continuous Improvement and training initiatives: 

  • Plant visits – document observations and create actionable follow-ups. 

  • Execution and Planning Category improvement plans 

  • Training and Development of Plant Quality and support 

  • Management of the Quality Training Program 

  • Support to drive an improvement on the quality losses journey.

Support to category and communication: 

  • Special Situations Investigations (Boots on the ground) 

  • Support major nonconformities RFCA

  • Communication to Category Quality 

  • Communication with key Shared Services 

  • Support improvement plans to address consumer dissatisfiers 

  • Assist and support Innovation monthly connects

Expected Experience & Required Skills 

  • Bachelor’s degree in food science, or related field. 

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience in quality, R&D, or operations.    

  • Green Belt/Black Belt/Certified Quality Engineer 

  • Familiarity with Kraft Quality Policies and Procedures is preferred 

  • Experience with ISO, and/or FSSC 22000 beneficial. 

  • Capable of managing multiple priorities and plants. 

  • Ability to influence key internal and external business partners, assess and manage risk, and communicate across the supply chain required. 

  • Willing to travel 40-50%.

Work Environment & Schedule 

Candidate must be able to travel independently, have the ability to drive a vehicle, fly commercially and be located near a major airport. Travel required 40-50%. This position is considered a ​Field based environment; role requires frequent travel to customer locations, stores, manufacturing facilities, etc.​ Additionally, this role requires first shift work, however, flexibility is required based on plant requirements.

  • ​​Occasional – activity or condition sustained up to 1/3 of working hours; upright stance, keyboard or text input; sedentary – occasionally exerting 0-10 lbs. of force; limited movement from workstation for brief periods of time. ​

New Hire Base Salary Range:

$89,800.00 - $112,200.00

Bonus: This position is eligible for a performance-based bonus as provided by the plan terms and governing documents.

The compensation offered will take into account internal equity and may vary depending on the candidate's geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors
