SQL Developer

Coho Technology Solutions is seeking an SQL Developer who will be responsible for developing critical Business Intelligence Reports to help support business decisions for various departments within the United States Army Legal Services Agency (USALSA). 

Responsibilities: 

  • Develop reports based on requirements gathered from internal USALSA staff. Utilize skills to analyze different data sources to effectively determine what data is required based on the customer’s requirements.
  • Design, create, manage, and fulfill requests for reports and information.
  • Work with users to comprehend business processes and report requirements for assigned projects.
  • Create reports and deliver data to users through the use of T-SQL and SSRS.
  • Be involved in the technical design, implementation, testing and production support activities relating to business intelligence.
  • Utilize understanding of complex problems, interpret business and system requirements, work flows, use cases, functional/technical design
  • Use T-SQL, SSIS and SSRS to create reports and deliver data to users.
  • Integrate new technology into new and existing systems to include the transition and migration of applications.
  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to users and other IT specialists.
  • Utilize excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.   

 

Experience:   

  • Clearance: Public Trust 
  • 5+ years of experience in SQL Server
  • Knowledge of SQL Server query syntax including date formats, result limiting, string concatenations, etc.
  • T-SQL knowledge - creation of tables and others.
  • Common-table expressions, temp tables, stored procedures and knowing which to one to use that best suits the requirement.
  • Ability to create fine-tune SQL queries, views and stored procedure.
  • Ability to create, read, modify and enhance SQL code to include reading and understanding SQL code, finding issues, or improving query performance.
  • Knowledge of normalization techniques to potentially help other .NET or SQL developers design new tables.
  • Ability to build SSRS reports from scratch (knowledge of what a Matrix is and how to use them based on need, create new reports to be used as sub-reports, etc.)
  •  Ability to build existing SSRS reports from other sources into SSRS and migrate reports to SSRS .                                                                                       
  • Ability to read and troubleshoot existing SSRS reports, knowledge of SSRS expressions, object properties.
  • Provide technical guidance and instruction to users and other IT specialists.
  • Must have excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical users.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Results oriented individual with exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage and perform multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Self-starter and ability to work as part of tea
  • Exercise strong ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical user
