Responsible for assisting Specialty division with credit control such as outstanding premiums, overpayments/short payments and ensure correct allocation to the underlying policy.

Responsible for assisting Specialty division with credit control such as following up on outstanding premiums as per the laid down rules.

  • Support specialty division with following up on outstanding premiums as per Service Level Agreement.

  • Ensure timeous collection of outstanding debt and maintain strong relationships with internal and external clients.

  • Attend to difference in premiums raised and allocated as per the premium payment bordereaux received.

  • Ensure all premiums are matched as per the signed slip or agreement with broker and if any differences refer to the relevant Underwriting division(s) within Specialty.

  • Ensure to follow up with the relevant broker(s) on outstanding premiums until the premium is received and the policy is clear. 

  • Attend to accounts queries as per the Standard Operating Procedure and Service Level Agreements with necessary escalation as per the laid down rules.

  • Ensure timeous and accurate management of own credit control matters.

  • Timeously and continuously escalate to relevant Underwriting division(s) where no feedback is received on outstanding premium list.

  • Ensure queries are followed up daily/weekly to ensure timeous resolution.

  • Assist with group scheme policy payments and allocation of premiums.

  • Follow up with Premier Operations on backfilling of policies to allocate premiums paid.

  • Assist with Agency Management (Professional Indemnity, UMA sub brokers etc.)

  • Continuous improvement to ensure effective service.

  • Ensure adherence to organisational policies, practices, and procedures.

  • Identify solutions to enhance cost effectiveness and increase operational efficiency.

  • Service delivery to ensure customer satisfaction.

  • Maintain service, quality, and desired outputs within a specific functional process through ensuring compliance to tactical policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Establish productive operational relationships with key stakeholders in the various channels and administrative teams.

  • Develop work routines in line with operational plans / schedules to manage achievement of service delivery goals.

  • Cost control and governance adherence

  • Proactively ensure use of time, of resources, money, materials, or equipment is in line with policies and procedures.

  • Comply with corporate governance policies, procedures, and standards.

  • Experience , knowledge & skills required :

  • Grade 12

  • Diploma or Batchelor’s degree in commerce would be advantage.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Good interpersonal and client relations skills.

  • Good communication skills (both verbal and written).

  • Proven ability to work independently and proactively.

  • Proven ability to suggest working solutions to a problem.

  • Knowledge and experience using Microsoft office and excel.

  • Knowledge of accounting practices.
