Department Overview

The Capital & Balance Sheet Management team, part of TD Securities Finance, is responsible for capital management and capital project initiatives, as well as providing subject matter expertise in liquidity, funding and the balance sheet. The team is involved in leading consultations and industry discussions regarding current and upcoming OSFI requirements, optimizing capital, managing financial resources, business line measurement, forecasting, and limit management.
 

Job Overview:

This Analyst will oversee daily monitoring of leverage limits, actively engage with business partners to manage leverage allocation, and support monthly reporting processes. This role ensures accurate, timely leverage exposure management and provides actionable insights to optimize business line allocations and maintain compliance with regulatory and internal standards.

Responsibilities:

  • Track and monitor daily leverage exposures against approved limits for each desk and business line.

  • Identify breaches or approaching thresholds and escalate issues promptly to management.

  • Maintain accurate records of daily limit compliance and exception handling.

  • Collaborate with business partners to manage and optimize leverage allocation.

  • Prepare and deliver monthly leverage reports, including exposure, allocation, and compliance summaries.

  • Analyze trends and variances in leverage usage, providing insights to influence business decisions and optimize balance sheet utilization.

  • Identify opportunities to enhance leverage reporting processes, controls, and data quality.

  • Support the implementation of new methodologies, systems, or frameworks to improve leverage management efficiency.

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • 3+ years relevant experience preferred

  • Sound understanding of wholesale banking products including derivative instruments and a good grasp of quantitative data analysis

  • An independent thinker with strong critical-thinking skills and the ability to solve complex issues

  • Self-starter; willingness to take initiatives for continuous learning and development

  • Strong working knowledge of Excel and Access; experience in analyzing large data sets using SQL/Access

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

Specific Educational Requirements / Accreditations: 
•            CFA, CPA or FRM designation preferred

•            Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline
