We're hiring a Specialist Mechanic to support our busy Cranbrook branch. This position is responsible for disassembling, reassembling and repairing a variety of CAT equipment components. Don’t miss out - apply today!

Job Description:

  • Repair, overhaul and assemble components for graders, haul trucks and dozers, including service and overhaul of hydraulic cylinders

  • Manage component repair process

  • Understand the do not repair (DNR) process by identifying DNR components and the impact of DNR status

  • Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes)

  • Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required

**Candidate selection will be in compliance with the terms of the current Collective Agreement**

Specific Skills & Experience

  • Mechanic Ticket considered an asset (Automotive, Truck & Transport etc), strong mechanical aptitude with desire to learn

  • Previous experience working around heavy equipment

  • Clean Drivers’ Abstract

  • Understanding of Finning and CAT product or general line, parts and mechanical services

  • Proficient in MS Office Applications

  • Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail

  • Self starter with the ability to work under minimal supervision

Important Details:

  • This is a position based out of our Cranbrook branch on a 7x7 continuous shift

  • Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement.

  • Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
