What You Will Do:
Partner with our Information Technology teams to embed records management capabilities into enterprise applications, supporting system performance, troubleshooting, and automation of retention and disposition processes.
Lead the enterprise strategy for implementing records retention across applications and databases, aligned with governance and regulatory requirements.
Develop, maintain, and enforce electronic records management policies, procedures, retention schedules, and legal holds; monitor compliance and report metrics to leadership.
Collaborate with system owners and archival teams to transition records from production systems to secure archives while maintaining required accessibility.
Drive adoption of standardized Records and Information Management (RIM) practices across business units, including metadata, taxonomy, digital preservation, inventory management, and disposition governance.
Partner with Privacy and Cybersecurity teams to ensure records handling follows data protection laws and internal security standards.
Establish performance metrics that demonstrate risk reduction, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement.
Provide subject‑matter expertise and quality oversight for electronic records systems and enterprise‑wide disposition initiatives.
Support acquisitions and divestitures by managing record collections during ownership transitions, including evaluation, approvals, and system integration.
Who You Are:
Related university degree and minimum of six or more years of directly related experience OR equivalent combination of formal education, certification and experience.
Experience with electronic records management, including file share remediation, applying retention to systems and databases, and leading change management.
Good interpersonal and collaboration skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, problem‑solve, and build effective relationships across the organization.
Demonstrated analytical capability, including database knowledge, reporting, metrics, and quality management.
Proficiency with enterprise content management systems and tools (e.g., SharePoint, Versatile) and related business applications.
Knowledge of or experience with information governance and classification tools (e.g., Varonis, BigID, Microsoft Purview, or similar).
Good communication, presentation, and training skills.
Solid understanding of records management practices, regulatory compliance, and internal policies.
Ability to think critically, prioritize strategically, and drive process improvement in a fast‑paced, low‑supervision environment.
Highly organized, adaptable, and a positive, collaborative team player with strong multitasking skills.
Preferred:
Energy sector records experience.
Acquisition and divestiture experience.
CRM, IGP and/or CIP designation a plus.
Participates, or affiliated with ARMA, AIIM or other records related organizations.
Working Conditions:
Majority of work is performed in typical office environment with occasional field office visits.
Physical Requirements include but are not limited to:
Grasping, kneeling, light – moderate lifting (objects up to 20 pounds), reaching above shoulder, repetitive motion, typing, sitting, standing, visual requirement (able to see screens, detect color coding, read fine print), hearing requirement and the ability to sit at a computer for long periods of time.
