The HP EMEA Payroll Organization is seeking an experienced Spain Payroll Expert to act as the primary authority and strategic reference for Spanish payroll within the EMEA region.

What will your day consist of?
Payroll Operations – Spain Focus
- Act as the Spain Payroll Subject Matter Expert (SME), performing and overseeing the full end-to-end payroll process in compliance with Spanish labor law, Social Security regulations, and tax requirements (IRPF, Seguridad Social, reporting obligations, etc.).
- Ensure accurate payroll processing through SAP HR / ADP GlobalView, maintaining high standards of data integrity and regulatory compliance.
- Manage monthly, quarterly, and annual payroll activities (including tax reporting, year-end activities, audits, and statutory reconciliations).
- Monitor payroll controls, validate results, and proactively mitigate compliance and financial risks.
- Provide expert guidance and advisory support to employees, HR, Finance, and leadership regarding payroll matters in Spain.
Specialized Payroll Topics
- Act as the reference expert for the Spanish Non-Resident Tax Regime, including assessment of tax residency status, application of non-resident IRPF rules, treaty considerations, payroll treatment, and coordination with Mobility teams.
- Provide expert ownership of termination calculations ensuring legal accuracy, correct taxation, and consistent application.
- Ensure correct payroll treatment, governance, and compliance of Pension Plans and long-term savings benefits, including employee and employer contributions and tax treatment.
Projects, Transformation & Partnership
- Act as a key partner to HR, Finance/Controllership, Legal, IT, and external vendors, ensuring alignment between payroll operations and broader business objectives.
- Drive payroll-related transformation initiatives in Spain, identifying process optimization opportunities and implementing scalable, compliant solutions.
- Promote a strong partnership model with internal customers and external advisors, fostering collaboration, accountability, and service excellence.
- Ensure robust controls and governance are in place, reinforcing compliance with corporate policies and Spanish legal requirements.
Who are we looking for?
- 8+ years of solid experience managing Spain payroll, with strong knowledge of Spanish labor law, taxation, and Social Security framework.
- Demonstrated expertise in non-resident taxation, termination/severance calculations, and pension plan payroll treatment.
- Advanced experience with SAP Payroll (PY) and/or ADP GlobalView
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills; advanced Excel required
- Proven experience participating in or leading payroll-related projects, transformations, or system implementations.
- Experience working in a matrix and cross-functional environment, collaborating with multiple stakeholders.
- Ability to manage complexity, prioritize workload, and work with high attention to detail.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish.
