As a Sourcing Specialist - Commodity Management, you will negotiate with suppliers according to specific policies. You will ensure to achieve the best contractual conditions while also ensuring internal customer satisfaction.
As a Sourcing Specialist - Commodity Management, you will be responsible for:
Developing /implementing effective strategic & project sourcing actions in conjunction & alignment with global commodity leaders, business stakeholders for steel/Iron/investment castings, forgings, other assigned commodity/sub commodity segments.
- Identifing and finalize capable – competitive - high performing suppliers in castings (Steel/Iron/Investment castings), forgings, other assigned commodity segments for customer project orders, NPIs & Transfer of work projects, Re-sourcing (High cost suppliers to best value suppliers).
- Performing robust & comprehensive supplier evaluation/assessments (techno commercial, QMS, regulatory, HSE, 5S, capability/capacity/financial risks) for new & existing suppliers.
- Early engage with Sales/Proposals/Applications Engineering / Engineering teams to understand and support on market bids/orders. Proactively collaborate and improve cost & delivery leadtimes for parts at enquiry as well as firm order phases.
- Establishing robust/efficient/sustainable supply chain, operating mechanisms with existing and new suppliers to deliver Cost out /Fulfillment/Leadtime/Quality/Growth objectives of business, region.
- Leading /Managing RFQs, price/leadtime/terms/conditions negotiation and alignments with suppliers for purchase requisitions pertaining to customer project orders as well as for strategic initiatives.
- Maintaining SAP attributes (price, pay terms, incoterms, leadtimes, MoQs etc) for proper assignment of source rule to enable purchasing actions.
- Leading /driving contract finalization (Strategic supply agreements, VMI agreements, rebate agreements, quarterly/half yearly/annual price discount agreements etc to support business needs & objectives.
- Leading /driving /executing new parts sourcing, development & qualification efforts with Suppliers together with Supplier quality and Engineering teams.
- Measuring/Monitoring/Improving suppliers performance via scorecards and drive sustainable improvement actions plans with regional supply base for assigned commodities/sub commodities portfolio.
- Leading / driving supply risk mitigation efforts , provide order expediting support to purchasing function on need basis.
- Analyzing spend landscape/ industry & market landscape/ suppliers performance at regular intervals. Leverage Sourcing/Procurement tools, data analytics, market intelligence, business intelligence to create / manage / optimize supplier panels in alignment with Global commodity leaders & business stakeholders, Enhance regional suppliers capabilities and deliver Best Cost/Quality/Fulfillment/ESG initiatives/Growth for the business.
- Proactively monitor market trends, geo-political risks, technological advancements and industry best practices related to sand castings, investment castings, iron castings, forgings and other assigned commodities/sub commodities. Carry out external benchmarking, competition landscape. Recommend & Implement improvements/innovations to optimize sourcing processes, business processes/practices and metrics outcome.
- Establishing ( & maintain) strong relationships and mutual cooperation/alignment with suppliers and business stakeholders (Plants, Engineering, Global commodity leaders, Supplier Quality, Purchasing, Sales, Application Engineering, Product line, Project management etc) to seamlessly drive forward business objectives/ priorities.
- Ensuring compliance to Sourcing/Purchasing policies, QMS, Integrity / assessment guidelines while executing day to day tasks.

To be successful in this role you will:
- Have Minimum 10 years of Commodity Sourcing experience with proven performance track record. Should possess strong expertise & experience in sourcing fully finished Castings (Steel/Investment/Iron), forgings, raw materials and successfully managed high spend suppliers & strategic relationship. Should have executed Project Sourcing activities for repeat & non repeat buys, should have driven NPI sourcing / localization efforts, Re-sourcing initiatives (to improve cost – quality – delivery performance).
- Should have worked in global MNCs preferably from Control valves industry.
- Must be a holder of Bachelor/ Master's degree in Engineering from an accredited university or college plus Trainings/Certifications in Sourcing/SCM is desired.
- Should possess unwavering commitment to Integrity, Sourcing/Purchasing Compliance, Quality mindset, HSE consciousness while executing day to day deliverables. Should demonstrate positive work ethics and professionalism.
- Should possess deeper domain knowledge, strong process & systems knowledge and hands on work experience in Sourcing/Procure to Pay processes, Supplier evaluations & assessments (should have carried out audits), Contracting & Negotiations. Must have sound experience/exposure to Sourcing/Procurement analytics & tools, Costing model/techniques, SAP/ERP.
- Must be a strong negotiator, effective collaborator, efficient communicator, powerful presenter, change agent, visionary & proactive. Should possess technical aptitude, business & financial acumen, cost assessment, leadership skills, data analytical skills, effective/excellent power point presentation skills.
- Should have strong Interpersonal, Collaboration and Leadership skills. Should be able to execute multiple Sourcing / Supplier development projects & strategic initiatives simultaneously.
- Should have led/driven cost & lead time reduction initiatives, process improvement/simplification initiatives.
- Should have ability to proactively analyze and resolve problems/ risks/ crisis/ conflicts through robust collaboration & fact based approach. Should be able to influence, persuade and lead / drive stakeholders/peers/suppliers to achieve desired outcomes inline with company & functional goals/objectives/priorities.
