Job Description

The Sourcing Analyst is assigned to lower spend/lower complexity commodity products and/or services (e.g. approximately 10 categories) and works closely with Commodity Managers who are responsible for sourcing and negotiating contracts. The Sourcing Analyst manages projects under the direction of a Commodity Manager and assists with sourcing projects. This position manages key components of public bidding events, and assists post-negotiation, assures critical steps are taken for contract implementation.  Sourcing Analyst may assist with contract renewals and extensions, and renegotiate delivery, discounts, payment terms and/or freight terms on existing contracts. The Sourcing Analyst is also responsible for monitoring data to identify opportunities for cost savings, standardization or process improvements. The position serves as a resource for the buyer team when special requests, item updates and/or supplier issues are escalated for a Sourcing decision. 

Contract continuity and supplier management are key components of this position.  The Sourcing Analyst assists in contract review, initiates supplier screening and on-boarding, and secures and initiates the load of critical product/service information into applicable systems.  The Sourcing Analyst also supports Value Analysis with new product reviews/introductions, product recalls, new product implementations and product conversions. 

    Minimum Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare or other related field and 2 years of experience in purchasing ideally in a healthcare environment.
