Solutions Engineer, US Partnerships
Location: Hybrid in NYC (3 day in-office requirement)
Qualifications:
- Experience: 3+ years of experience in a customer-facing technical position in a product-led tech environment, working in roles such as Solution Engineering, Sales Engineering, or Partner Engineering, specifically focused on API/SDK integrations.
- Technical Acumen: Understanding of RESTful APIs, webhooks, and modern software development practice, basic SQL knowledge.
- Communication Skills: Ability to articulate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences (e.g., engineers, product managers, and executive stakeholders).
- Problem-Solving: Experience with diagnosing and solving multi-system technical challenges under pressure.
- Self-Starter: Highly motivated, proactive, and capable of managing multiple concurrent partner engagements with a high degree of autonomy.
Bonus points:
- Experience working with payments, Fintech, or B2B platforms is a strong advantage.
A day in the life and how you’ll make an impact:
- Lead Technical Onboarding: Serve as the initial technical contact for strategic partners. Guide their engineering teams through the end-to-end integration and configuration of Melio's embedded solution (APIs/SDKs), ensuring a smooth and rapid time-to-market.
- Troubleshooting & Resolution: Act as the first point of technical escalation during the pre- and post-launch phases. Rapidly diagnose, reproduce, and resolve initial integration hurdles, complex technical setup issues, and API usage errors or escalate to relevant engineering teams.
- Engineering Liaison & Advocacy: Bridge the gap between the partner’s technical team and Melio’s internal Engineering and Product teams. Conduct clear, concise communication, document partner requirements, and initiate internal escalation of complex issues that require code fixes, deep investigation, or significant product enhancements.
- Technical Documentation & Knowledge Sharing: Contribute to and maintain high-quality technical documentation, integration guides, and best-practice examples to accelerate future partner adoption.
- Solution Design & Strategy: Work closely with the Business Development and Product teams to understand partner use cases, translate business requirements into technical specifications, and architect the optimal integration solution leveraging the Melio platform.
About the team:
The Partnerships Integration team works as a part of our Product Engineering group and acts as the gateway for Melio’s external partners. We maintain long-term relationships, and provide the features and tools that partners need to integrate with our platform. Our integrations enable partners to embed, white-label, or customize Melio’s payment capabilities, opening up new business opportunities.
We collaborate with different stakeholders to deliver seamless integrations, build trust with our partners, and push forward Melio’s mission of transforming business payments. We work with modern technologies, including React, Node.js, TypeScript, and AWS microservices, and we are agile and collaborative, constantly looking for ways to improve our partner experience, product reliability, and codebase.

As a Solutions Engineer, US Partnerships, you will be the technical lead of our most critical embedded partnerships. You will own the technical success of integrating Melio's payments platform (via APIs and SDKs) into the products of our partners, such as major banks. This role requires a strong blend of hands-on technical expertise, exceptional communication skills, and a strategic, problem-solving mindset.
