The Position

Solution Architect - RDT Group Functions Group Communications

At Roche, we offer a hybrid work model that combines flexibility with in-person collaboration. For now, we require our employees to be in our offices on average two days per week. The specific office days may vary depending on business needs, such as workshops, conferences, town halls, team meetings, and other collaborative events.

This role is embedded within our Legal, Compliance, and Group Communications function, a team dedicated to transforming our commercial content supply chain and accelerating the fulfillment of our broader strategic vision. The opportunity: 

  • Architecture & Strategy: Develop and maintain the technology roadmap, partnering with Product Managers to co-create IT strategies that align with the business's strategic vision. Define and drive reference architectures, design patterns, Non-Functional Requirements (NFRs), and fitness functions, ensuring Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) are documented and published.

  • Business-Driven Solution: Drive the technical vision and future-ready architecture for Group Communications, leveraging deep industry expertise to design innovative solutions that explicitly meet business priorities, and utilizing strong leadership to influence senior stakeholders toward a unified, strategic roadmap

  • Design & Technical Oversight: Formulate logical data and solution architectures comprising software, network, hardware, and integration designs. Create Conceptual and Logical Data Models, Taxonomies, Ontologies, and integration pathways for the product landscape.

  • Innovation & Technical Debt Management: Assess current state solutions (including Sprinklr, headless CMS like Storyblok, Lumapps, Brevo, and Enterprise Search tools like Sinequa and Google Cloud Search) to identify gaps and define future state needs. Continuously improve existing solutions, manage technical debt, and conduct research, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and vendor assessments for emerging technologies.

  • Cross-Solution Integration: Guide the design and development of an integrated view of communication, channel content planning, deployment processes, and the associated business landscape to identify opportunities for synergy and interoperability.

  • Impact/Strategy: Develops and maintains the product's technology roadmap. Provides technical oversight, guidance, and consultation on specific technologies for product teams. Improves existing solutions, manages technical debt, and researches, evaluates, pilots, and drives the adoption of new technologies. Identifies opportunities to enhance value and business processes within a Complex or Multiple Solution or Product Context.

Who you are:

Required Technical Skills & Credentials

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's degree in computer science, systems analysis, or a related field, accompanied by 7-10 years of professional IT experience demonstrating the ability to translate strategic plans into operational excellence.

  • Domain Expertise: Deep technical expertise in major applications and platforms, including AWS, MuleSoft,,Storyblok, Sprinklr, LumApps, strong knowledge of Enterprise Search technologies, including Sinequa and Google Cloud Search, is also required.

  • Frameworks & Modeling: Proven experience creating architecture designs using formal methodologies such as TOGAF or Zachman. Expert-level proficiency in creating data models, taxonomies, and ontologies.

  • Broad Technological Acumen: Expertise across multiple technology domains (e.g., networks, systems, databases, integration patterns, and security).

  • Experience of working with associated technologies related to internal and external communications, channels, and engagement is highly desired

  • Stakeholder Management & Negotiation: Exceptional communication skills with the ability to clearly frame difficult concepts and persuade diverse audiences. Must be an influencer and negotiator capable of aligning executives and senior stakeholders to a shared vision and roadmap.

  • Strategic Thought Leadership: Must possess sound business judgment, contributing to broad strategic topics rather than just technology issues. Remains unbiased toward specific vendors, prioritizing business results and "big picture" perspectives over personal preferences.

  • Business Foresight & Alignment: Ability to understand and paint a holistic long-term and short-term vision of business situations for varied levels of business stakeholders.

  • Collaboration & Mentoring: Proven ability to lead diverse, cross-functional teams to arrive at common design proposals. Proactively contributes to the development of architecture practices and mentors others within the organization.

  • Change Management: Understands how to lead the process of gaining agreement for new technologies by actively listening to the business needs and educating management on new capabilities.

Compensation & Benefits

The expected salary range for this position, based on the primary location of Warsaw Grafit is 228,900.00 PLN-425,100.00 PLN. Final compensation will be determined by a number of factors, including your skills, experience, qualifications, and location. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for a discretionary annual bonus with a target of 20% subject to both individual and company performance.
