Your mission starts here at Raytheon Australia! Right now, we are seeking a bright and energised Software Solution Architect.

This role is for a Senior Engineer within the Architecture Team for the Collins Class Combat System. We are seeking a candidate with pro-active interests in System or Software Architectures. Experience in cloud computing and related ICT products would also be beneficial.  The role provides an opportunity to develop as an Architect and lead the evolution of cloud computing across the Collins Combat System Architecture.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop solution architectures for software based systems
• Evaluate cloud technologies and products for the Combat System
• Integrate solution architectures into the broader Combat System Architecture
• Coordinate with architects and software developers to develop long-term roadmaps and plans for Combat System cloud computing
• Develop Combat System architecture descriptions
• Maintain system architecture model
• Provide architectural guidance to design engineers
• Deliver architectural recommendations and solution options
• Critical technology scouting and investigation

Skills, Experience and Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering as a minimum.
• At least 5 years’ experience in professional engineering, preferably in Systems Engineering or Software Engineering.
• Prior experience with cloud computing technologies (Desirable)
• Demonstrated experience in System/Software Architecture and Design (Desirable)
• Prior experience with Architecture Frameworks and Modelling using SysML or UML (Desirable)
• Experience in a Defence related industry is highly desirable
• Successful candidates must be eligible to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security clearance to Negative Vetting 1 level. Eligibility can be found at https://www.agsva.gov.au/applicants/eligibility-suitability
