The Boeing Company is currently seeking an Experienced Software Safety & Airworthiness Specialist to support our Boeing Commercial Airplanes Software Certification and Integration team located in Everett, Washington. This position will focus on supporting the Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Software Engineering organization. 

 

 This role will serve as a single point of contact for Engineering unit member (E-UM) certification focal and safety and airworthiness (SAW) focal for BCA Software.  This includes working directly with E-UMs and E-UM Advisors to develop training plans, support E-UM annual performance reviews, and ensure the health of the BCA Software E-UM community. 

Our teams are currently hiring for a broad range of experience levels including; , Experienced and Senior Software Safety & Airworthiness Specialist.

Position Responsibilities:   

  • Develops, maintains, and communicates strategies, policies, and initiatives to enhance safety and airworthiness of Boeing products and services. 

  • Researches, analyzes, and assesses safety and regulatory data, trends, and developments for impact to Boeing products and services. 

  • Contributes to influencing safety and airworthiness initiatives through application of specialized technical expertise in airspace operations, human factors, air navigation, customer operations, safety management, policy, or regulatory domains. 

  • Collaborates with external stakeholders (customers, regulators, industry, and external organizations) to identify safety and airworthiness issues and supports developing and implementing solutions. 

  • Addresses safety and regulatory technical inquires and requests from internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Supports and facilitates the investigation of organizational factors that contribute to safety and airworthiness issues. 

  • Supports the deployment and implementation of safety and regulatory policy, standards, and guidance. Participates in advocating internally and externally for safety and regulatory enhancements to support Boeing products and services. 

  • Provides technical guidance and training relative to moderately complex safety and airworthiness matters. 

 

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/ Experience):  

  • Bachelors degree from an accredited course of study

  •  5+ years of related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience 

 

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):  

  • Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science

  • 9 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Experience with project management and self-managing projects 

  • Experience with the ODA procedures 

  • Experience working with FAA or with the Boeing Safety and Airworthiness (SAW) processes 

  • Experience communicating effectively and ability to collaborate with cross functional organizations and entities

Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.   

 

Summary pay range for Experienced Level (Level 3): $102,000 - $138,000 

Summary pay range for Senior Level (Level 4): $126,650 - $171,350
