This is a remote position that could be based anywhere in the United States or Canada.
Calix is looking for a Software Project Management Intern to join our Program Management Team within the Intelligent Access Edge Products organization for the summer months. You will be part of a unique and award-winning program within the company which provides the opportunity to learn new skills through training and on the job learning. The duration of the program is expected to be 90 days.
We are looking for a someone who is passionate about meeting product delivery deadlines at high quality. The successful candidate will work closely with program managers, product line leaders, development, and test teams to track and maintain epic, story, bug, and test case data in Jira and Xray. In addition, she/he will get to assist in providing data for and participate in senior management reviews, as well as observe interactions with customer facing engineers.
This intern will develop skills in using various software tools including Power BI, Jira, and Xray that are widely adopted in the software industry, as well as hands on experience with Microsoft Office. The ability to work on multiple in-flight projects, clarity of thought in communication and ambitions for a career in leading development projects are truly desirable attributes for the role.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Review project and bug status data
- Work with assignees to ensure up to date and accurate
- Prepare status slides and/or live dashboard-based reports
- Drive product specification reviews
- Prepare and update wiki-based project plans
- Participate in cross functional project reviews, capture status, and action items
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's Degree program majoring in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field. Preference will be given to students who have completed their Junior or Senior years and who have previous internship or work experience.

- Confidence in communicating and working with subject matter experts
- Highly motivated and desire to learn in a fast-paced company
- Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September)

The base pay range for this position varies based on the geographic location. More information about the pay range specific to candidate location and other factors will be shared during the recruitment process. Individual pay is determined based on location of residence and multiple factors, including job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
San Francisco Bay Area:
27.60 - 34.50 USD Hourly
All Other US Locations:
24.00 - 30.00 USD Hourly
