The Software Engineering Team Lead will be a technical specialist, leader, and mentor within the embedded software discipline, while also serving as a cross-discipline leader for product development.
This individual will lead a product development team and be responsible for driving and shaping the culture within that team. The role involves designing and developing embedded software for products across a wide range of industries , managing project success, and leading local continuous improvement activities.
Key Job Accountabilities:
Serve as a technical specialist, leader, and mentor within the embedded software discipline.
Lead local continuous improvement activities associated with the engineering discipline and/or project-level tools or processes.
Ensure the technical success of programs by understanding customer needs, staffing with appropriate resources, and driving continuous improvement of tools and processes.
Exemplify and hold the team accountable to demonstrating the Plexus Core Values.
Expand and grow technical and leadership competencies by hiring diverse and high potential talent.
Focus on evaluating potential, driving succession planning, and ensuring employees receive the development and coaching required to realize their full potential.
Partner with the Site Leadership Team in areas of staffing, training, and development to ensure long-range goals and objectives are met.
Collaborate with other Design Center leaders globally to effectively and appropriately utilize all resources and provide expected levels of support.
Education/Experience Qualifications
A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field is required.
Five (5) or more years of related experience is preferred.
Two (2) years of Project Management experience is preferred.
Experience with Design patterns and principles is preferred.
Strong understanding and working experience with object-oriented programming (OOP) is preferred.
Highly proficient in modern C++.
Strong understanding of embedded systems architecture and real-time operating systems (RTOS).
Ability to work cross functionally.
