Position Overview
Evernorth Customer Data Platform Engineering team is seeking an AWS Infrastructure Engineer with deep expertise in designing, deploying, and managing cloud-native solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, RDS, EKS, SQS, and CloudWatch. The ideal candidate will also have hands-on experience with Snowflake and database administration, supporting scalable, secure, and high-performance data platforms.
This role offers the opportunity to architect and implement robust infrastructure for mission-critical healthcare applications, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and drive automation and operational excellence. You will play a key part in advancing Evernorth’s technology strategy, supporting large-scale initiatives that transform health services and pharmacy benefit management.
Responsibilities
- AWS Infrastructure Engineering: Architect, deploy, and manage AWS resources including Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, RDS, EKS, SQS, and related networking and security components.
- Serverless & Automation: Design and implement serverless workflows using Lambda and Step Functions to automate business processes and data pipelines.
- Containerization & Orchestration: Build and manage containerized workloads using EKS (Kubernetes) for scalable application deployment.
- Database Administration: Administer relational databases (RDS, PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL databases; optimize performance, backup, and recovery strategies.
- Snowflake Engineering: Design, implement, and manage Snowflake data platforms, including data ingestion, transformation, security, and performance tuning.
- Monitoring & Observability: Set up and maintain monitoring solutions using CloudWatch, enabling proactive alerting, logging, and dashboarding for all AWS and Snowflake resources.
- Messaging & Integration: Architect and manage SQS queues and integrations for reliable, scalable messaging between distributed systems.
- CI/CD & Automation: Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure-as-code deployments using tools such as Terraform, CloudFormation, and Jenkins.
- Troubleshooting & Support: Diagnose and resolve infrastructure and database issues in production and non-production environments, ensuring high availability and reliability.
- Collaboration: Work closely with software engineers, data engineers, product managers, and stakeholders to deliver secure, scalable, and cost-effective solutions.
Qualifications
Required Skills:
- Deep hands-on experience with AWS services: Lambda, Step Functions, EC2, RDS, EKS, SQS, CloudWatch.
- Strong background in Snowflake engineering and database administration (relational and NoSQL).
- Proficiency in infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Experience with containerization (Docker) and orchestration (Kubernetes/EKS).
- Solid understanding of monitoring, logging, and alerting best practices.
- Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks.
- Programming/scripting skills in Python, Shell, or similar.
- Excellent troubleshooting, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Required Experience & Education:
- 3-5 years of experience in cloud infrastructure engineering, database administration, or related technical roles.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Desired Experience:
- Experience in healthcare or regulated industries.
- Exposure to Snowflake, data engineering, and large-scale data platforms.
