Focus of the role:
We’re looking for a skilled backend Developer to join our growing engineering team. Your primary focus will be on building and maintaining robust, scalable, and secure backend systems. You’ll collaborate with front-end developers, DevOps engineers, and stakeholders to deliver high-quality software solutions aligned with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
Design and develop backend systems and RESTful APIs using Java (11/17+) and Spring Boot.
Build secure, high-performance services, ensuring scalability, reliability, and maintainability.
Integrate with relational and non-relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB), including data modeling and query optimization.
Collaborate with front-end developers to integrate APIs and build seamless end-to-end solutions using React JS, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.
Participate in code reviews, technical discussions, and solution design for backend systems.
Implement CI/CD pipelines in coordination with DevOps teams; support cloud-based deployments, preferably on AWS.
Write unit, integration, and API tests using tools like Postman, Selenium, and other automated testing frameworks.
Maintain code quality standards and resolve issues flagged by tools like SonarQube.
Monitor application health and performance using Splunk, New Relic, and similar tools.
Participate in Agile ceremonies, coordinate deployment activities, and showcase deliverables to stakeholders.
Mentor junior developers and contribute to team knowledge sharing.
Required Skills & Experience
4-6 years of hands-on experience as a Full Stack Developer with a strong backend focus.
Strong programming experience in Java (11/17+) and backend frameworks such as Spring Boot.
Frontend development skills with React (latest versions), HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript will be desirable but not mandatory.
Solid understanding of RESTful API design and integration, including tools like Apigee.
Experience with database development and performance tuning in MySQL, PostgreSQL, or MongoDB.
Familiarity with cloud environments, particularly AWS, including deployment and monitoring.
Working knowledge of Agile tools like JIRA.
Experience with SonarQube for code quality and Selenium/Postman for testing.
Knowledge of accessibility standards and modern front-end best practices.
Experience with observability and monitoring tools like Splunk, New Relic, etc.
A strong team player who collaborates effectively—not an individual contributor-only mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
Exposure to containerization and orchestration (Docker/Kubernetes) is a plus.
