WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites.

About this opportunity 

The Identity & Authentication Platform delivers capabilities to enable LBG business areas secure client and digital authentication and identity across all their digital channels. The Platform delivers core products including Identity & Authentication as a Service, giving end-to-end packaged services of several components for self-serve consumption. 
 

What you’ll be doing:    

  •  Create and maintain robust APIs that enable secure and efficient communication between services. 

  •  Develop scalable microservices architectures that support high availability and performance. 

  •  Deliver solutions across both public and private cloud platforms, ensuring reliability and security. 

  •  Participate as a valued member of agile squads, contributing to planning, development, and continuous improvement. 

  •  Use best practices and design patterns to shape high-quality, maintainable solutions. 

  •  Advocate for “What Good Looks Like” in software engineering and help spread these standards across teams. 

  •  Take ownership of software delivery from inception to production, ensuring robustness and scalability. 

  •  Focus on building secure authentication systems to protect customers against fraud. 

  • Work closely with architects, engineers, and technicians in the Authentication Lab to deliver cutting-edge solutions. 

 

What you’ll need 

  • Strong Software Engineering experience, ideally focused on Java 

  • Proven expertise in API design and development 

  • Hands-on experience with  

  • microservices 

  • Working knowledge of Authentication and Authorization concepts 

  • Exposure to Test-Driven Development (TDD) and performance engineering/cloud optimization 

  • Solid understanding of Networking and API Gateways 

  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, monitoring tools, containers, orchestration, and service mesh 

  • Experience with DevSecOps pipelines and methodologies
