Job Family Definition:
Designs, develops, troubleshoots and debugs software programs for software enhancements and new products. Develops software including operating systems, compilers, routers, networks, utilities, databases and Internet-related tools. Determines hardware compatibility and/or influences hardware design.
Management Level Definition:
Contributions include applying intermediate level of subject matter expertise to solve common technical problems. Acts as an informed team member providing analysis of information and recommendations for appropriate action. Works independently within an established framework and with moderate supervision.
What you will do:
We are looking to hire Test Engineers for the Routing Infra Services(RIS-QA) team in Bangalore. The Routing Business Unit (QA) team is responsible for quality assurance of the various L2/ L3 domain areas for every release that being shipped to the Customer.
Be a part of the team with highly energetic and talented engineers working in the areas routing, switching and VPN areas. Will be responsible for high quality deliverables by working with internal teams such as Development, QA, program management etc. Expected to build and sustain strong technical skills.
What you need to bring:
Must have strong Routing/Switching background.
Must have strong experience with routers and switch architecture.
Must be playing a strong technical role in the current position
A clear understanding of the product development cycle, technical requirements with a strong understanding of concepts related to computer architecture, data structures and programming practices.
A minimum of 4-5 years of relevant test experience in Layer2/Layer3 technologies on any competitive devise set.
Candidate having Regression test environment/Tools exposure is an added asset.
Candidate must have a strong record delivering software test projects on-time and with high quality
A Bachelor of Science Degree in Computer Science, Electrical / Electronics Engineering a Master Degree; or equivalent experience is required.
Candidate must possess good oral and written communication skills, be highly self-motivated, and have the ability to work in a team environment.

Excellent Customer handling and communication (verbal and written) skills
Thorough understanding (Packet level) of -
* IP Packet flow, OSI layers
* Layer 3 - IP and related technologies (ICMP, TCP, IPSec, GRE, QoS, VRRP)
* IP routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, ISIS , RIP)
* Layer 2 technologies (Ethernet, 802.1q/p VLAN, STP, RSTP, ARP, PPP, MLPPP, LACP)
Understanding/Exposure/Expertise in one or more areas -
* MPLS, VPLS, L2 and L3 VPN
* MPLS Traffic Engineering, LDP, RSVP
* Multicast technologies NG-MVPN, PIM
* Perl/Unix/Expect scripting
Platform Knowledge: Juniper (routers, switches), Cisco, Nortel, Huawei, traffic generators (Ixia, Agilent)/ traffic simulators, protocol analyzers, testers etc (not all are required but some of these are good to have).
Preferred Certifications - CCNA/CCNP/CCIE, JNCIS-M, JNCIP-M, JNCIE-M, CCIE-SP
