Cadence

Software Engineer II – FEA Crash

KATO SCHOLARI 01 Full time

At Cadence, we hire and develop leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology.

Join BETA CAE Systems, Greece, as a Software Engineer II and become part of Cadence Design Systems, the pivotal leader in mechanical and electronic systems design.

Leveraging Cadence’s Intelligent System Design strategy and BETA CAE’s innovative engineering solutions, we deliver advanced products that empower some of the world’s most forward-thinking companies across diverse industries such as consumer electronics, hyperscale computing, communications, automotive, aerospace, and healthcare.

In this role, you will contribute to shaping the future by collaborating with cross-functional teams across both companies to develop and promote impactful products and strategies. Joining us means becoming part of a dynamic and evolving environment where teamwork, innovation, and a global perspective drive our continued success and leadership in the industry.

Your day-to-day will include:

  • Design and deliver core structural simulation capabilities within the Crash & Safety R&D team—emphasizing robust algorithms, scalable performance, and productiongrade reliability for highfidelity crash and safety analyses

  • Implement highquality software in C/C++  and Python (APIs, libraries, automation) with clean architecture, tests, and documentation

  • Contribute to HPC scaling—multithreading, distributed memory (MPI), and GPU acceleration—along with memoryefficient data structures and cacheaware design.

  • Advance capabilities in nonlinear behavior (material plasticity/damage, large deformations), contact mechanics, and transient/explicit dynamics for crashworthiness

  • Collaborate crossfunctionally with product, QA, and application engineering to ensure industrial robustness and customer impac

      Qualifications you need to have:

      • MEng/PhD in Mechanical or Civil Engineering (or closely related field)

      • Strong foundation in continuum mechanics & FEA theory

      • Handson with transient analysis and numerical method

      • Knowledge of modern C++ or Python

      • Clear communication in English, ownership mindset, and collaborative approach

      Qualifications that will be considered:

      • Experience with commercial/industrial FEA codes (e.g., LSDYNA, Abaqus, Nastran, OptiStruct etc.) and mesh/geometry pipelines

      • Experience with Linux, Git, CMake, and unit testing

      • Performance optimization (vectorization, cacheaware and lockfree design) and parallelization (OpenMP/MPI; CUDA/OpenCL a plus)

      • Knowledge of ANSA/META/SPDRM user workflows; CAD/mesh generation, model preparation, and testtosimulation correlation.

      • Background in explicit time integration for crash, contact algorithms, material failure models, and stability control (e.g., bulk viscosity, hourglass control).

      What we offer:

      • Permanent employment contract following a six-month evaluation period

      • Competitive salary package

      • State-of-the-art and continuously updated equipment (hardware and software)

      • Ongoing training in the latest technologies related to the field

      • Opportunities for professional growth and skill enhancement

      • Comprehensive private health insurance

      • Employee Assistance Program
