What you will bring to the team

The Software Test Engineer intern contributes within the software development team to learn and aid with test of Toshiba's Point of Sale (POS) solutions in the retail marketplace along with HW Drivers by ensuring their quality, collaborating within the agile development team in a fast-paced, customer-first environment.

This role is open to undergraduate students currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program, majoring in computer science that is at least one year from graduation and someone who is ready to take on challenging testing activities. The intern will assist, receive guidance, and learn from more experienced SW Engineers to perform manual testing as well as writing automation testing (Desired) to maximize productivity and quality.

 What you will be doing:

Your typical day as a Toshiba Software Test Engineer Intern will involve:

Assist engineers in a subset of the following areas as assigned:

• Elaborate test cases.
• Execute manual testing.
• Design and execute automation test cases (desired).
• Collaboration with development team to recreate issues and validate fixes.
• Participate in backlog grooming, sprint planning, and requirements team meetings
• Setup testing environment (HW configuration)
• Report defects and track defect resolutions
• Communicate status and identify project risks.

Naturally To be successful in this role, you must have and know of

• Currently pursuing Computer Science/Engineering major in Undergraduate or Postgraduate studies
• Responsible, organized, and hard working with excellent communication skills.
• Teamwork and excellent communication skills.
• Operative Systems, Linux and Windows.
• English: Fluent (Capacity to read, analyze, and write)

Preferred Skills:

• Good oral and written communication.  
• Knowledge in Office suite. 
• Advanced English. 
• Programming Language knowledge (Any, Java/Python)
• Course latest semesters of a Computer / Systems Engineering career or related.
