Software Engineer, Actimize

India - Pune Full Time

At NiCE, we don’t limit our challenges. We challenge our limits. Always. We’re ambitious. We’re game changers. And we play to win. We set the highest standards and execute beyond them. And if you’re like us, we can offer you the ultimate career opportunity that will light a fire within you.

So, what’s the role all about?

As a Software Engineer in our Analytics team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining highly scalable analytical services and data-driven products on AWS. You will work closely with engineering, data, and product teams to translate business requirements into reliable Python-based solutions, implement CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins, and leverage Docker and Git to deliver secure, production-ready applications. You will also troubleshoot and optimize cloud workloads, follow best practices in software development, and continuously learn new AWS and related technologies to enhance our analytics platform.

How will you make an impact?

  • Develop high‑quality, robust, and enterprise‑grade analytics products that run reliably at scale on AWS.
  • Work as part of the development team to deliver features and enhancements within committed timelines, ensuring clean, maintainable Python code and solid test coverage.
  • Participate actively in design and implementation discussions, pitching ideas and continuously innovating to move the team and the platform to the next level.
  • Collaborate in multi‑disciplinary Agile teams, embracing Agile practices, ceremonies, and tools to drive transparency and predictable delivery.
  • Implement and improve system monitoring, alerting, and observability so that issues are detected early and resolved quickly.
  • Build and maintain highly available, resilient services that can handle production workloads with minimal downtime.
  • Create and enhance infrastructure automation for hosting services on AWS, leveraging IaC and CI/CD pipelines to ensure repeatable, secure, and efficient deployments.

Have you got what it takes?

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or a related discipline.
  • 2–4 years of experience in the software industry as a software engineer (in a core development team, not a support role).
  • Strong understanding of software engineering best practices – clean code, automated testing, peer code reviews, and designing resilient, scalable architectures.
  • Solid development experience in Python, with good knowledge of data structures and algorithms.
  • Hands-on experience building and deploying microservices on a cloud ecosystem (preferably AWS) from scratch.
  • Practical experience with AWS services and comfortable working with cloud‑based, distributed systems.
  • Proficient with Git and Jenkins, and able to design and use CI/CD pipelines for safe, frequent releases.
  • Able to work confidently on Linux and Windows environments, with basic experience using Docker
  • Comfortable working in Agile/Scrum teams, participating in design discussions, grooming sessions, and sprint ceremonies.
  • Strong problem‑solving, troubleshooting, and debugging skills, using monitoring/alerting/observability tools to detect and resolve issues early.
  • Organized and clear in communication with both technical and non‑technical stakeholders, consistently delivering work within agreed timelines.

You will have an advantage if you also have:

  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS CloudFormation
  • Exposure to Java
  • Frontend experience with HTML, CSS, and frameworks like Angular
  • Experience with Scala
  • Working knowledge of Big Data technologies and data processing at scale
